this person answered my prevoious question about severly autistic children by saying only followers of jesus go to heaven. now from this i can only surmise that he believes that those people who are to mentally diabled to make a consious decission concerning any type of belief are automatically excluded from going to heaven.

is he corect in his statement regarding this matter or is he just spouting off at the mouth and not even understanding the question?

your opinion please.

He is spouting off at the mouth and has no clue what he's talking about. Why would God create someone only to condemn them to hell? That makes no sense, it woudl be like saying brunettes have no chance in getting into Heaven.

Wow that is weird, because I am a Christian named Kenny (well actually Ken, but everyone calls me Kenny).
I would say that the other Kenny answered your question rashly, sort of like you assuming that the other Kenny was a Christian (as it is impossible to tell based upon his answer alone).
However, I would argue, based on my understanding of Christianity that only the elect go to be with the Lord, thus if an autistic person is among the elect then they will indeed be with the Lord for all eternity, the same with children, and others who are unable to make a conscious decision concerning belief. We must keep in mind that just because a person has a disablity that does not necessarily mean they are incappable of making a decision concerning faith. Some forms of autism, or mental retardation do not limit ones ability to make choices, but you said severely and so again I would refer to election... meaning it is God's choice to save the individual. That of course brings up the whole debate between Calvinists (which I am) and Armenians and I don't have time to go into all of that.

He's wrong. Read the N.T. where Jesus warns people not to harm children. All will be at the Bema Seat Judgment, and all those that are Saved must go through Christ.Babies, small children, and mentally challenged people are clearly covered by the Blood of Christ.Good question because most avoid it as a belief in universalism, which is not the case at all.

I know I can help you. and I know you will feel better by my response, which is Biblical. and that is all that matters. Doesnt matter what I think, he thinks or you think. It only matters what God actually says. Yes, we must be a follower of Jesus to go to Heaven, this man Ken is correct. YOu can believe in other Gods , but they are false, and unless one has accepted Jesus, he cannot enter into the gates of Heaven, God is so clear on that. But, He also lets us know those that cannot make the choice will be there, they arent held accountible. Be it babies, retarded ppl, brain damaged ppl, etc. How can you be held accountible if you arent able to process this thru andmake the choice for yourself. Many are born incapable of making the choice, and they will be saved. What is at issue is this. If one was old enough to make the choice and didnt, and then becomes incapable, we dont know where God stands on that. But, we must believe they are saved, and keep on praying. I know our God is a just God and a fair God, and He will give us every opportunity to choose Jesus for ourself. For those that had opportunity and never choose Jesus and now are incapble of making choice, we dont know what happens, but we cant judge anyone. This is Gods job to work this out, and God is the only one that says who gets to go to heaven or not. Noone can tell you your son cant be in heaven. He is autistic, and yes he absolutely will be, and by being Christian yourself, you can also stand in covering for your child. God tells us we can stand in covering for our children, and we must follow Jesus and be obeident to Gods word. Dont worry. Your child will be in heaven. BUt, do pray for the person who said that to you. Cuz, making that kind of judgment is a terrible sin. He will have to repent to be saved. Even tho his heart may be in the right place, his head isnt. and what he did was a sin and very very wrong. Not his place to think that, let alone express it.

I do not know what he believes, so I cannot comment on the accuracy of what you surmise regarding his beliefs.

However, I can speculate as to what he meant: People can choose to follow Jesus after this life. If not, then as you said, all people who do not have an opportunity to make a decision would be unfairly excluded from heaven. This would be unjust. God is not unjust.

It's true that only those who put faith in Jesus will go to heaven, but- not ALL who put faith in Jesus will go to heaven. My hope, for instance, is to be one of the meek ones who will inherit the earth as Jesus promised. King David of ancient Israel had the same hope. (Psalm 37:11, 29) My opinion on your question then is that the statement was correct, but an autistic child could instead be one of those who will enjoy everlasting life here on the earth after Armaggedon. God's original purpose for man to live in perfection forever on earth never changed- He will soon act to eliminate those who will not submit to his authority, and even death will be no more.

The universal answer is if you do not believe in god , jesus , heaven then you are going to hell.
So i wonder if i do not believe in hell then how can i go there??
I guess i just get to rot in the ground.
Maybe autistic children do not have souls??
I have asked others what happens to animals they say nothing because animals do not have souls.
So with that in mind how come animals do not have souls??
Is it because they can not comprehend good or evil??
So if a creature can not comprehend good and evil i guess they do not have souls??
My answer to your question is :
If you can not comprehend good or evil , you are without a soul.
If you do not have a soul ,not a damn thing happens to you.
So severely autistic kids do not have souls and are to rot in the ground ^_^ they do not go anywhere...

I would say spouting off, perhaps not understanding. In the Bible, we are told at Jeremiah 1:5, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you," so the child does know Jesus, regardless of his awareness on the issue.

There is nothing in the Bible that implies that He will not hold harmless the person you describe. That's a horrible thing that he said.

God bless.

For what it's worth, I think someone has to be able to consent for the issue of hell to come into consideration. Hell, as I understand it, is for those who reject God of their own volition. Someone who doesn't have the capacity to know or reject God, God will receive back to Himself.

Even though people with severe mental handicaps may do things that are morally wrong, the are not, in a sense, responsible for their wrongs. That is key.

I need salvation because I - knowingly and with the ability to do otherwise - have done things that are morally wrong. I have a responsibility to God to make restitution in the way He prescribes. I am to be held accountable because I have the freedom, will, and capacity to choose my actions.

Children, the mentally ill or disabled are not accountable because of their altered or limited ability to choose or to understand the consequences of their actions.

kenny would have to be wrong if he believes that - if that was the case then all babies who die dont go to Heaven either - no way - there is a point in a persons life when they reach the age of awareness and at that point they are responsible for their choices about God - that age is going to be different for every person and in the case of mentally challenged people it may never come - those people are going to Heaven
