7I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

God creates evil - ive had many christians tell me this verse does not exist in the bible.

Genesis 8:1
But God remembered Noah and all the wild animals and the livestock that were with him in the ark, and he sent a wind over the earth, and the waters receded.

God remembered - to remember you have to forget. therefore god can forget. they just dismiss this verse anyway.

my point being is, some verses are dismissed and ignored by christians. why?

if its "out of context" then put it in context or dont bother making that claim.

to remember you have to forget - i disagree
remember means to think of again, or to keep in mind

Example: Remember your appointment with the dentist
or
I will remember your birthday.

Though sometimes saying remember does imply that you did forget, that is not always the case. So simply because the word remember is used, does not mean that the person remembering had forgotten something originally.

Are we conducting a Sunday School class here?

Your questions are both right and wrong. On Gen. 8:1 your say God can forget? This is true, but you are still not correct, as others point out. Remembering does not imply that man or God forgets. God does forget!!! He forgot my sins and remembers them no more.

When we say we forgot we mean we did not recall something at the proper time. We also say things slipped our mind. We may eventually have no recall due to time or unimportance of the event. This is not so with God.

Giving your own definition to remembering and evil is a problem here. In Isaiah 45:7 it says that God brings evil. It also says the evil He brings is against evil doers. Considering this, look again at Isaiah 31:2 and we see that God creates evil in contrast with the fact that He makes peace.

You are presenting evil as a pot of something that God created when He laid the foundations of the world. If you mishandle the Word of God, and He takes you from the face of the earth, that certainly would be evil brought to you and a day of evil created for you.

Isaiah 45 is a prophecy to Cyrus and a statement of God's eternal power. Now God forms light and makes peace. The absence of light creates darkness and the absence of peace creates evil; from the stand point of men.

If you would look to the source of evil, look to the hearts of men

If God made a tree of the knowledge of good and evil, that means evil already existed. Therefore there is evil in heaven, or there were more dimensions before ours was created. I mean there couldn't be a hell, because if before everyone was living with God then there's no way anyone would even want to be evil right, because God is so good.

Man, I debunk the Bible everyday on here.

Okay, your first verse about God creating evil, only had a "7" next to it, without any Biblical reference.

The second verse is indeed in the Bible. Anyone who has read the Bible can tell you that God does not forget. By God saying He remembered Noah, He wasn't saying He had forgotten about him. When you say "please remember me in prayer" or "please remember me when you win the lottery", you are not suggesting that someone would have forgotten about you. You are asking them to do you a favor. The implication of the verse was pretty obviously saying that God made a point of taking care of Noah. THAT is what He meant by remembering him. He was saying that He considered him, that He cared for his needs, that He didn't abandon him.

I think that this may be a case of semantics. One definition of 'remember' is "to bring to mind or think of again". This does not mean one has forgotten something. It's just bringing a memory forward that was filed away for future recall.

It could be similar for the 'evil' verse also. When the Lord says he creates evil, that does not necessarily mean that he is causing evil, but that he has created all the things necessary that could combine to cause evil. He created Lucifer. He created all the vices. He also created choice. If we choose to allow ourselves to be tempted, we could then possibly be the cause of evil, if not to others, then at least to our own immortal souls.

Chip I answered you and I think you know what I was talking about- and I think you did understand my answer- and what the word "remembered" meant in that verse.
As for God making evil- Yes I agree. God made everything and as Proverbs 16:4 says "God has made everything for a purpose, even the wicked for the day of evil"

-God made it all and it is for His glory in the end- and His plan of salvation to be carried out--But this does not mean God "is" evil. That is where someone can get confused. Everything God does is for His glory and for the good of those that love Him. That is why God tells us to flee from evil---Because when we do He is glorified. When someone is saved by His grace, He is glorified, when we love someone, He is glorified, when we share or give, He is glorified....That is why The bible tells us that In all that we do, we should do for the "glory of God!"

the first one is not problematic, its a very famous verse. the second one is only problematic because the word "remembered" is misleading. when the bible uses the phrase that G-d "remembered" somebody, it usually is the equivalent of saying "paid attention to" somebody, usually to fix a problem they are in.
