It is not difficult, but there is an art to it. Basically, you attach the drywall to the studs, tape it together, seal the seams with mud, sand and smooth, then spray on a texture (like orange peel), prime and paint. That being said, getting the seams to not look obvious is tricky. Also, smoothing the seams so you don't see the tape takes time and effort. Finally, texturing the surface evenly is an art. I've done it myself and have been pleased with the results until I compare it to the work my drywaller does. Mine looks like an amateur did it. Just take your time and pay attention to detail.

It's not real difficult, but like the one person said there is an art to it, particulary doing the spackling. I recommend using screws instead of nails. That will prevent you from getting nail pops.
Remember the room probably isn't square. So don't assume when you are cutting the drywall that the room is square.
For spackling, let the spackle come out slightly more than the board it will tend to shrink back in. By leaving it come out a little further also, you can sand it flat. Then use a moist sponge to do the last little touches up to smooth things out. Spraying a wall texture over the walls and a ceiling texture over the ceiling will help you keep from seeing all of the imperfections in the drywall that you made.
Lights that spread out across the wall or cieling will show imperfections more than lights such as recessed lighting.
Also check at your local hardware store about what kind of drywall to use. A different kind of board is used than regular drywall to hang tile on because the board has to hold more weight.

putting up drywall is not very difficult.. except for the ceiling, but in a room the size of your bathroom, it would only be two sheets so that shouldnt be too difficult..
the difficult part to do well is the taping and sanding of the spaces between sheets.. it looks very easy to do, and is, but its difficult to do well.. i would recommend paying someone $100-150 to come in and knock out that part of your remodel.. itll be well worth it

No, but the pieces are heavy and a pain to handle. Be sure and get the water-resistant kind; that way, if water seeps behind the tiles, you wall won't fall off!

It's doable but tedious.....personally, I'd go with T1-11. Ask your local hardware store about it. It's usually cheaper, looks a HECK of alot better and easy to install!!
