I have never made lasagna before, nor have I ever seen anyone else make it. I am trying to make lasagna for my husband's birthday because it's his favorite meal. I have already prepared the lasagna, but now I am unsure of what temperature the oven should be preheated to, how long to cook it, and whether or not it should be covered with tin foil. Thanks in advance for your advice.

cook it in a 350f oven for 40 minutes covered (you will need to tent the foil a little so that it doesn't touch the top of the lasagna). then uncover & cook for an additional 10-20 minutes at that same temp. until cheese on top melts & browns a little.

Bake Lasagna Covered Or Uncovered

I always cover it w/ tin foil while baking so the cheese doesn't burn. I take the tin foil off the last 10 minutes so the cheese can brown a bit on top. My oven is at 425 when I bake lasagna for about 45 minutes- good luck!

I like to cover mine with foil so that the cheese does not get too crispy. I do like to take off the foil for about 10 minutes before I pull the lasagna out of the oven. I usually cook my lasagna on 350 for about an hour. Hope this helps. Good luck! :)

Well it depends on how many layers you made and what size it is. But lets say you have 4 layers in a 9 x 12 pan. I would put it in a 350 degree oven for 40 minutes covered then check on it. If the noodles are almost soft and everything is heated through take the foil off and finish cooking uncovered for about 10 minutes. Good Luck!

My recipe makes a 13 X 9 pan. I cover with foil (spray the inside of the foil with Pam first though, so it doesn't stick to the cheese!) and bake in a preheated 350 oven for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and bake an additional 15 minutes longer.

I just made lasagna tonite at my job. The easiest way to make lasagna is to layer bottom of baking pan with sauce, layer noodles (you can use uncooked lasagna noodles, saves time and will not be mushy), spread ricotta, mozzarella cheese, noodles, meat, more sauce making sure it is to edge of noodles, continue process, usually 4 layers and finish with mozzarella cheese. We have a convection oven at work which is set at 300 degrees, at home, temp. on the gas oven is 325. We cover ours with plastic wrap and then foil. The cheese browns, cooks the noodles and when done, (internal temperature should be about 140 degrees, usually depending on size, about an hour to an hour and a half), uncover and let sit for about a half an hour before cutting. This allows it to sit up and makes the pieces stay together. Make sure your ricotta has been mixed with eggs, parmesan cheese, mozzarella, granulated garlic, salt, pepper and we add parsley for color. Basil adds a nice touch. We mix ours with a mixer. Good luck and hope your hubby enjoys and appreciates your effort!!

... 190 degrees ... not too hot, a slow bake.
No, don't cover it in foil ... you need to let it go golden brown on top and if it is covered this wont happen because the top would not be directly exposed to the heat.
So, no foil!
If u need any more help with your lasagna email me as i make a good one!!
Cheers!

Cook it covered for at least an hour at 350. Take the cover off and brown it for about 20 minutes more. BE SURE TO PLACE Foil under your lasgna so you do not have a huge mess in your oven! Good luck.
