This was my favorite hand technique back when I competed. It is extremely effective when executed correctly.

The spinning back fist is a different technique. The spinning bottom fist is far more powerful. With the back fist, the elbow is down and power is derived not only from the spin, but from the snap from the elbow, which is limited with the elbow in the down position. Also the back fist makes contact with the back of the fist (small bones exposed and prone to injury), where the bottom fist makes contact with the meaty portion of the hand (the area you strike with when executing a hammer fist).

Thanks gretsch16pc. I have never thrown a spinning back fist to the groin. In kickboxing it is illegal to strike there.
