I got two for Christmas. The heat does not come through them. You will not burn your had. However, my experience has been that they are VERY stiff and don't go where I fingers want them to. I find them awkward and tend to not use them.

LOL I can't s ee being scared of an oven mitt. Evidently they do work or they wouldn't still be on the market. They've been around a while. Spend a few bucks on a pair and test them. You can take a scalding hot dish out of the oven using a plain old bit of terrytowel, and you will not get your hands burnt - unless ya want to stand there for ten minutes holding on to the dish. Besides that all kinds of plain fabric, quilted oven mitts have been around for decades. They work perfectly well without any "spaceage technology"

i have used both the mitt and a "pot holder" square. i recommend getting the kind that just covers the tips of your fingers & thumb, not the full mitt or pot holder, because the mitt/holders are too unweildy. however, don't be scared! they really do work pretty well. some of the heat can transfer, but not enough to burn your hands.

I own 2 they work great and I love them. The heat will tranfer to your hand eventually. But it will not burn you or anything just like with a regular oven mit.

i own 2 and though they are very expensive they work awesome.
I have literlly held my hand in boiling water (while wearing them of course) for a minute and though they got warm it was far from a burn or anyhting dangerous. If you're just baking or something not out of the ordinary then i say go for it and buy them, you won't be disapointed.
also you can put them in the dishwasher after your done.

Yep and that i've got the finger/thumb mitts too. Love em! i became into so skeptical, yet they do paintings and lots much less stressful to freshen up than to throw each and every of the prevalent potholders interior the wash.

My brother has one he uses for deep frying. He loves it. I have used it to remove things from the oven and it worked great.

They work but they are awkward and make my hand feel sweaty.
Cook's Illustrated didn't rate them too highly either.
