Please help I'm in a wedding on March 31 and would really like to have my blonde hair back! I have tried almost everything you cannot highlight over the red it only makes it worse and I 've also tried a bunch of different shampoos and nothing works! Does anybody know a way to get my blonde back and keep it that way while still using the well water?

I tried the Paul Mich. shampoo but it did not help and I paired it with the purple conditioner and that didn't help either! I don't know what to do and my hairdresser is at a loss as to what to do! She did get me some of those packets from Sally's but I've been afraid to try them, scared it could make it worse!

Do you have a Sally's Beauty Supply store near you?
If so, go there & get a few packets of this stuff:

( I say a few b/c I need to use 2 packets )
It really gets rid of all the minerals that are in your hair !
Oh, you'll need to get one of those plastic bottles to mix it in.
I used it when I had blond hair & it turned green from cholorine. I went to the store, almost in tears, & asked them what I can use & the lady told me this stuff. It took it right out & saved my hair :)
Since you use well water regurally, you may want to do a treatment of this once a week.
Not sure if you tried this stuff, but, while browsing their web-site, I just found this shampoo (& they have a conditioner too) that's good for those of you that have well water.......may be worth a try !

Good luck !

your well water shouldn't turn them red, they do get pretty gold though. I have well water...and bleach blonde hair. I try not to shampoo my hair too often, every few days. Once a week I use a clarifying shampoo-paul mitchell's shampoo three is made to remove chemical build up on your hair from things like well water. I also use their platinum shampoo-that looks purple in your hand. Purple cancels out the gold tones to keep you looking better. hope I helped

well, its a bit of a bother and essential to respect the condition of your hair. May i recommend a shampoo designed for really oily hair, it will strip the hair but whilst doing this will open up the hair cuticle (inside bit) and help the stain to ease out. However, there are ways of getting a bit more fierce, a colour remover or a bleach bath, details of which I cannot tell you as a professional needs to do it. I would never forgive myself if i let hairdressing secrets out !!!! As well as it being stupid of me as i have never seen your hair so , if yo are short of cash go to a local college for a colour correction but be sure to ask for a level 3 class....don't let the beginners on it or you really will have something to worry about!
good luck.......i imagine by the end of march all things hair will have returned to normal......

I would try vinegar first. Just be careful as it will burn any open scratches on your body. There is a malibu treatment that you can purchase at sallys beauty supply or go to a salon and have them strip it out. Try the vinegar first. You can rinse your hair in it a couple times a week to keep the minerals stripped from your hair.

Weaving blonde highlights into your base colour complements any complexion. Like self-tanner, golden tones eliminate darkness from your skin. shop the streaks skinny to verify each and every thing blends in nicely or attempt Redken All comfortable Gold Glimmer Perfecting Shine therapy (approximately $15 U.S) which warms up ALL base colors- with none dye. determining the place to place the highlights has extra to do with complimenting the form of your face than it does with the colour of hair you're commencing with.

Try a shampoo that is made for swimmers. They use it to get the chlorine out it will also help with the mineral in your well water. Sorry I forgot the name of it. My blonde daughter used it when they had swimming lessons.

the shampoo that one of the answerers refers to might be paul mitchell awapau (sp?) for swimmers. i think that's a good suggestion. you could also try a demineralizing treatment, which a salon can do, or you can do at home with a product avail at sally's

Try rinsing in strong chamomile tea (but I still have my doubts) or try professionally matting of highlights (do not try this at home please)
