Pretty important I would say. I know that when it began to lack in my marriage we started arguing and then outright fighting. After trying to get help from therapists and counselors her continued disinterest in sex led to the end of our marriage. Since then I have been making my own little observations on others' marriage problems. over 75% of the couples I've talked to say when the sex life begins to fade the fights begin to increase. In my own observations, I have found that the lack of a healthy sex life will eventually lead to one or both of the partners cheating. So, if they can't get what they need at home, they'll go elsewhere.

actually it is very important, the bond between a couple is much stronger if the sexual relationship is strong and healthy. also it give a couple a sense of closeness that a platonic relationship cannot. the insecurities that go along with a sexless relationship sometimes tend to destroy the bond between a couple. there is a mutual sharing of ones self, often in a way that can not be given when there is no sexual bond. i am not saying you can not love with out the sexual relationship but that you have feelings are different in that you tend to be sharing in every way and giving of your self in every way, in a relationship that includes a sexual relationship. just my opinion.

It's important to be sexually compatible. A definition of what constitutes a "healthy" sex live varies with every individual, so for the two individuals to agree on the definition is very important.

If you don't have a good healthy sex life IN your relationship, then you are bound to find one sooner or later OUT of your relationship.
It's a reality that you've got to accept and deal with, especially when you decide which relationships to get into.

It's not the most important part, but having a helathy sexual relationship means you are comfortable with the one you're with, you both know what eachother likes, and doesn't like.

I think it's very important along with the trust and communication. If you don't have that closeness with the other person, how are you going to make it?

It isn't. It only part of the package. If sex keeps a relationship going then its going to take a nose dive.

Depends on what kind of relationship. IF you're talking about a romantic one, then it is very important.
