Think about this. when was the last time you got something you wanted that didn't cost any money. What is it with people and worshiping fictional charecters? Everyone always says that believing in god is a matter of faith but think about this, if your parents or your preacher hadn't ever told you that if you weren't good your eternal soul might forever burn in hell, would yoy stil believe in god? The same question for money, if no one had ever said that gold was worth more than dirt, would people still fight and kill and die over money? Please answer if you know the right one.

Being endowed with free will, humans have a natural desire for a measure of independence. Carried too far, however, this desire gives rise to disobedience, even rebellion Do you not know that if you keep presenting yhourselves to anyone as a slave to obey him, you are a slave of him because you obey him. Satan blinds the minds of unblievers, thus they follow him. Those who are determined to be rich fall into temptation and a snare and many senseless and hurtful desires, which plunge men into destruction and ruin. For the love of money is a root of all sorts of injurious things, and by reaching out for this love some have been led astray from the faith and have stabbed themselves all over with many pains. Romans 6:16, 23 1 Timothy 6: 9, 10
1John 5: 21 My little children, be on your guard against idols, [false gods]

I agree with you. I've lived all over the U.S. including the Bible Belt where it seems to me that many people (Christians) there are born and raised to worship exactly what you talk about. A lot of people that I knew there never questioned ANYTHING about their religion and took everything that they were fed literally. If they hadn't been raised that way, would they still think that way? Unfortunately those people were not open to other ways of thinking. I consider myself very spiritual, but I am completely against orgainzed religion. Look at the way the world is and you can thank a lot of that to religion. What other horrible group of people would burn innocent woman and children in "witch trials" in the early 1900's? Religon makes people do unnatural, horrible acts in the name of "their" god. My god is better than yours...if you don't believe in my god, you die or go to hell...etc. If people looked inside themselves, instead of listening to what someone else told them, life would change. So many people are asleep and lost and they go to others to be told what is right and what they should do. The ironic thing to me is that most religions preach that greed is bad, yet you look at our world and so much revolves around money and greet and selfishness. I say to people..ask questions and find out for yourself what you really feel and believe. Look inside yourself.
Try reading Eckart Tolle's, Power of Now. Or any books from Dan Millman. I think you might enjoy them.

I agree with your analysis. Its a crazy world, sometimes crazy wonderful, sometimes crazy not wonderful. As for God I think you are right that we wouldn't have the same beliefs if it weren't for people telling people what to believe. If the society had no science we might still make up a supernatural being who created everyone. If it were a scientifically educated society though I think everyone might be content to seek their spirituality in a completely naturalistic non Deity requiring way. As for money, I think we would come up with some other probably similar thing to use in exchange for work, material things, and power. I hope though that some humans are starting to see that happiness in life requires things beyond money and material goods. That we can't treat each other and the environment like crap and expect to live in a peaceful and decent world.

None of these show me that life is against human nature. The fact that they exist shows that it is in complete alignment with human nature.

Religions exist as a social response to keep groups of people together and to align their values as a society. Without these religions forcing people to comply with a set code, societies would splinter. It's sort of like a social evolution, the societies without religions split apart while those with a religion will stay with the same values. Of course, things seem to be changing now and people are easily held together by other value systems instead of religion in secular places.

Something like money/gold is also a natural thing. It is merely a placeholder of wealth. How difficult would it be to exchange goods and services without some representation of wealth. If you had to barter with goods at every transaction things would be terrible. Money and gold are merely symbols of wealth, which is easily understandable as humans are very symbolic creatures. Symbols dominate almost everything we do.

So in conclusion, I feel that your thesis is entirely ridiculous and that if it were not human nature, then these things wouldn't exist. Realize that human nature is derived from the ability to socially network and therefore these social networks cannot be against human nature. That's a pretty crappy tautology I guess, but I think this brief sentence captures the idea I'm shooting at.

Its not just human nature..... man is sinning against the creator. When Satan was thrown from the Heavens he was giving the earth to rule. His greatest trick was to make man believe he does not exist and make good look bad and vice verse. Now you may not have faith but this is true how can one not believe in the creator its like denying your own existence. The Bible is one of the greatest books written and the only book that prophecy has been revealed and people still deny the truth its when your following behind the man of sin and things go wrong you may then give thought but let me say this the evilest of men when they die they call out to the creator and this is real religion was not the way of our fathers they followed the laws and commandments it instilled in our hearts we just want to feed into the flesh you all need to read your Bibles

You're right. You can't get something for nothing. And God doesn't claim that you do.

To gain the Kingdom of Heaven literally costs you your life. You must give your life to Him unconditionally, sacrificing EVERYTHING you have and everything you are. Yes, the rewards are unfathomably large. But the cost is total. Don't fool yourself. Jesus warns us to count the cost before deciding to follow Him. Most people don't do that. Which is why they say you must go through the narrow gate.

Did you just realize that the world is built on false values? Why all anybody has to do to learn the truth is read the Bible and Koran that so many people think should rule everything we do. The screwed up fanatic stuff that has messed up the world and caused wars and famine are right there in front of you.

I believe in God because of my direct personal experience. I was raised totally without religion...I never went to church and to this day I don't know what my parents or family believe. I don't believe in hell...so that takes care of that comment of yours.

As for the world...the best things are free - peace of mind, bliss, etc. They are found within...not in the world.

There is nothing you mentioned that is against human nature. Man kind has always looked for meaning outside of physical reality and always will.
And mankind is greedy and possessive by nature.
Every gereration thinks that they discover that people are becoming evil and corrupt, but the the truth is that people have always been the same.
