I would suggest that, if you can afford to, visit Los Angeles for a week or two to see how you like it before you commit yourself to a permanent move. There are many differences between living in Ohio, and California. Weather, Housing, Traffic,Tuition (as an "out of state" American citizen, you will pay higher tuition here that "illegal" aliens pay), etc.

Several years ago I took my teenage son "back east" to see where I grew up (Western Pennsylvania). and to visit family in Ohio, and West Virginia. He fell in love with the area. He found the people to be friendlier, the prices dramatically lower, every thing to be greener & cleaner, and the pace of life so much calmer. He was especally amazed by the lack of grafitti all over everything, but he didn't care for the humidity, especally around Lake Erie. It was the first time he ever saw a Firefly / Lightning Bug.

What I'm saying is everyones tastes are different, so before you commit yourself to a situation you may not enjoy, come on out for a visit first, and see how you like it..

Big difference in "in state and out of state tuition" at least at U.C.L.A.
They have cool and inexpensive mega dorms "on the Hill" at U.C.L.A. where you will meet people from all over the world....Also your winter clothes money can be spent on cute little outfits and you get to live almost in Beverly Hills, which is nice...and best of all you get out of Ohio...jezzz, If I were you I would see if I could graduate from high school early...and be on your way...

The most important thing you will need to know is that the cost of living is about TRIPLE what you are used to. Probably won't be a big deal if you live in the dorms (depending on what your folks are willing to fork out), but if you decide to stay afterwards it will be a huge factor.

Food, rent, utilities, gas, insurance, entertainment ... everything ... WAY WAY WAY more expensive.

i lived in california all my life, and i just moved to ohio (cleveland) hun, all i can say is i hate ohio. i cant wait until next year when i get to go back to california. i would say everythign is better out there. everyhng is more advanced, and you have more variation. it is beautiful and always warm. and if u really like the snow u can go to the mountains. the cost of living out there is alot, but you get payed more. and ur college will cost tripple becauce u r from outa state. so u would pay $20,000 a yr instead of like $6,000. but start saving you can do it. u will love it there, and i really recomend you to go.

You should like LA but like previous poster said, it is sooo expensive here.

Save you pennies, take out large student loans and go west young lady.
