Paul was an apostle, Peter Popoff is a Charismatic apostate. He tells the stupid Charismatics/Pentecostals what they want to hear and they pay him for it. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

The main purpose/reason for the miracles were to validate the gospel. Once that was done, and the scriptures recorded, it was no longer necessary-thats the most common view. I can accept that.

Now, in 1948 Israel became a nation after being extinct for nearly 1900 years-is that not a miracle that was witnessed by the whole world?
What about the 1967 war? Israel was attacked by 5 Arab nations and was outnumbered on the ground over 1000 to 1, and in the air over 100 to 1. Yet Israel defeated all 5 countries and took territory That was impossible. Or, just maybe it was a miracle.

Israel is where all the "magic" took place in the past, and that is where it will be in the future-keep watching.

Miracles are not a thing of the past--The Lord is working all the time on our behalf. But maybe you don't hear too much of it in the U.S. because we have pushed God so far out that this nation doesn't have faith enough!!! The mission fields are filled with awesome testimonies of the miracles of Christ. The blind are given sight, crippled people are being able to walk again, and many more. One time a girl I know was on a mission trip and the team was trying to get back down from the mountains and the truck they were all in ran out of gas. The pastor from the little church there only had regular water--so with prayers of faith they put the water in the tank and sure enough the Lord made a way for them to descend 1 1/2 hrs. back down the mountain and to the village where they needed to be---it's not water into wine--but is water into gasoline good enough for ya?

Well, it wasn't magic. The problem today is that A) you can run into anyone on the street and ask them what religion they are and they would probably tell you Cristian. Then ask them exactly what that means. Odds are they couldn't. Too many people claim to be a Christian without having the commitment that God asks for. Point, there are pretenders. People who go with it because that's who they're told they should be. They don't choose for themselves. If God wanted that, we would have no free will. God might not feel it right to prove his power to a nation of people who haven't proven their love for him.
B) Also, who would really believe it? Since would step in and try to explain it away, stealing God's glory. If indeed miracles still occur, odds are they are kept quiet for that reason.

There was no magic. It was miracles. The reason it disappeared is because in today's society miracles go unnoticed. They still happen today. In the news today a woman woke up from being in a coma since the year 2000. The doctors have no explanation except to say it's a miracle. They want say GOD did it but it's a miracle. If god didn't do it we know the doctors' didn't

It DOES happen. it just isn't PUBLICIZED as a miracle nor on front pages of newspapers and tabloids. But then comes the entire question of believing WITHOUT seeing which is prominent throughout the new testament. U must remember that in biblical days EVERYONE was focused on a certain event such as the crucifixion, etc. So much crap is happening in this world now that nobody can actually FOCUS on one predominant thing so maybe the miracles are being overshadowed!!!

Peter was. Peter just didn't set up the Catholic Church. He didn't organize any such religion. And that church never had the priesthood authority to be organized or established. That is why most churches out there don't have the ability to perform such miracles. Those miracles are performed thru the power of the priesthood. It is the literal authority and power of God on the earth today. The catholic church just doesnt have that authority.

It didn't die. From the day Christianity was set in motion there have been countless miracles. There's more to life than what you get fed through tv. You have to search the real writings, not the stuff on the best selling shelf at the made for the masses bookstores.

The Jewish religion was a huge group at the time.
Here were a small group of newly-formed christians.
What would be one way God could get the attention of the world (at that time) onto this little group?
Aha!
Miracles!!!
It seemed to work.
However, once Christianity grew, there was less need for this attention getting avenue.
It was foretold it would stop.
