I have tried so many diets I should write my own book, stay away from so called miracle pills they are dangerous over a long period of time. if losing some pounds of any description and inches is what you want then I would suggest you use a diet that is all natural and is rich in protein and vitamins. I used a protein based diet with Herbalife after a friend who had lost weight with them recommended it to me. All the way through you feel great and energized, you also get great coaching and support along the way. The people are very friendly and gave me lots of great advice. I needed to lose 40 pounds and I did so fairly easily. There is no pressure and they will even send you a load of free samples so you can try before you buy. The samples were the thing that initially convinced me that this was the right diet for me. The products really work and you feel great whilst losing weight. You also a get e free complete health consultation with the samples, I think I just paid the postage, but for what I got it was well worth it.
I lost all my weight in less than four months and they have helped me to keep it off. I would definitely recommend using them. The owners will advise you on what to purchase depending on what you want to lose, my sister did this also and lost 76 pounds in five months. The website is www.myhealthabc.com. You just leave your details and they call you up, I would suggest that if you aren’t sure or don’t want someone to ring you then go to their main site www.myhealthabcmall.com and you can see all the products and packages and order from their. This is what I did before I went to the first site and left my details so they could contact me. You can see with all the products and detail they have, so you know that they mean business. Its nice to have contact with real people who care about you losing weight and improving your health. I know that I will continue to keep the weight off with the help I have received. I hope this helps.

I'm on the Atkins diet.. I've lost 140 pounds.. and I still have about 60-70 to go. I've been told the South beach is easier and you are less restricted, but you lose weight slowly. I may switch to that on my last 10 pounds. It is about changing your life though. Once you start one of these diets, you can't just stop one day and go back to eating like you normally do.. you may lose 20 pounds then decide ..to heck with it..then you end up gaining 40 back. Is the diet worth this risk? I think so. The doctor's kept telling me i was fat..lose weight.. now people are like the atkins diet is so bad for you.. stop it.. just find something you are comfortable with and can commit to.. Excercising makes dieting go a lot faster.
Good luck!

Diets do not work in the long run. You need to make a lifestyle change. You should be able to eat what you want, but do so in moderation. Portion control is very important. You also need to not eat too much or too little. Calorie intake should be around 1500 a day. Break it up into 5 small meals throughout the day - this will allow your metabolism to stay up which is important and necessary for weight lose and maintenance. You also need to watch your fat intake and be sure to include protein and fiber in your meals. Eat lots of fruit and vegetables and drink plenty of water throughout the day. A sample meal plan for one day would be:
breakfast: oatmeal and a piece of fruit
snack: handfull of almonds
dinner: turkey on whole wheat bread with lots of veggies and a piece of fruit and fat-free milk (white or chocolate)
snack: yogurt
supper: grilled chicken, frozen veggies, low-fat cottage cheese

If you still want to eat the good foods, try what I did about 5 years ago and lost 40 pounds in 4 months and kept it off until I went to night school and ate fast food at night and gained it back. I recently started a carb diet but that's not ideal for you since you still want to eat the "good stuff". The best thing for you is to #1 WALK. Walk at least a mile a day, treadmill or otherwise, this really helps shed those pounds. #2 Cut back on everything. Still eat what you want to but in smaller portions. I used to fix my plate for dinner like I normally would THEN half it and take the other half with me for lunch the next day. When you go out to eat, get what you want but get it on a kids meal. Most everyone in America eats way more than the portions that we are suppose to eat. And don't go back for seconds, eventually your stomach will shrink and you want be as hungry and you will get full faster. One more thing, drink lots of water and only one soda a day unless your drinking diet. This really worked for me. Good luck.

I found a great way to lose weight fast and keep it off. I do body cleansing. I lost 13 pounds in 9 days and then 28 pounds in less than a month. Cleansing will help the body get rid of impurities. Impurites come from a lot of things like fast food, pollution, food additives and preservatives etc. The impurities get stored in the fat in our body. To shrink the fat, we have to get rid of the impurities by cleansing. This made sense to me and I decided to try a cleanse program and it worked. The weight came off fast and this kept me motivated to keep going, not like other diets where the weight loss it too slow. To learn more call the toll free number 1-877-587-4647 or check out the website. Cleansing was good for me. Good luck whatever you decide to do!

In order to lose pounds and successfully keep it off, you will have to change your life style. If you are one of these people that sit in front of the tv and munch, then you will have to find something other than watching tv to do, such as join a bowling league, get involved in some arts and crafts, sign up for a fun class, etc. Exercises like walking vigorously for 20 to 30 minutes four times a week changes the metabolism allowing weight loss. I would suggest reducing meats, breads, and butters in your diet and increase the raw veggies and fruits in your diet, such as apples, carrots, celery, pineapple, peaches, pears, etc. It's okay to eat neat things like potato chips, cookies and so on, providing you do this in moderation.
Many people will tell you that they eat potato chips, cookies, pies, etc in moderation, but in actuality, they will eat way over a moderate amount. My husband will tell you he eats things in moderation and in fact, he doesn't. He will sit down in the evenings and watch tv and eat half a carton (gallon) of ice cream. This is not moderation. Those tiny individually packaged vanilla ice creams that have strawberry or chocolate throughout them; I believe they come in a package of six if I remember right, these are packed so you can eat one which is a good moderate amount.
Best of luck.

my mom was a bit over weight and then she tried weight watchers. she loved it and lost a lot in a good amount of time.
its all about portion sizes. the points are a pain to get used to for about 3 days, but then it gets super easy. its just tells you how to find something's point value, and then you have to make sure you dont eat more than that. you DO NOT starve, the points start higher the more you weigh, and then go down w/ your weight. she did a bit of working out (she just walked a lot, nothing crazy, just like, an hour a day or something...). she looks great now and has kept the weight off.

Go to www.sparkpeople.com Its 100% free! They have really good meal plans, exercise routines, calorie counters, support groups and a motivational section, and you can track how much of each nutrient (like fibre, calcium, etc) you get in each day. Its been proven that logging the food you eat each day helps with long term weight loss because it makes you more aware of how much you are actually eating. Other than that, watch portion sizes and make sure you exercise. Good luck :)

Diets do not work. 99% of people gain the weight back. No one teaches the animal what to eat and what not to eat. He knows instinctively what to eat. Humans also have the same instinct. The way it works is just eat whatever tastes good and that will be healthy for you and non-fattening. That is why a baby tastes everything. So again whatever tastes good, is good for you. This is why you will spit out spoiled milk.
But wait!!! Man has the technology to create rat poison. It tastes like healthy food (good taste) but kills the rat. So man has done that to you. Note-- any food unaltered by man (uncooked) that tastes good, is good for you. So if you are stranded in the woods, that is how you know what to eat (cooking changes that). So man has created fake fruit. It tastes like fruit that exists in nature but it is terrrible for health, addictive and fattening called sweets.
So it is natural to like real sweets called fruit, like a baby does, but they have fooled you just like the rat. But they do not want to kill you. They want you to become obese so you will buy lots of their foods. This is called GOOD BUSINESS. Learn how to nourish your body thin, instead of starving your body fat. Eat more water by eating juicy fruits. See site below.
