Pray about it. Ask God to give you the right person and guidance to them.

DO you have anyone in your family like a sister or cousin or someone you trust completely? Its gotta be hard, my Godmother is a good frined of my mothers, however they don't talk anymore... so if something were to happen, who knows what would of been the outcome :) Just try to think who you can see through thick and thin that will be a part of yours and your child's life :) Good luck!

Hmmm...I think that you need to think about what kind of godmother that you want for your child. Mine is someone who is like a grandparent to me(only much much better). If you want them to really be there for you kid i would choose someone who is older and doesn't have children or has grown children. That way they spoil the kid. Or pick someone you know loves children but can't have any for some reason. Pick someone who will let the child be a priority in their life.

A god parent does not have to be a friend, it can be a family member. I think that even if you may not be that close to someone, if you feel like that person could take care of your child, then that is what matters.

Im not that close to anyone either I chose my husband best friend because she had a boy too and I trusted her to be there for my son. My friends baby however has two god mothers, which is okay too. Especially if you are not that close to anyone. You can also choose a family member you are close too.

my godmother is my mom´s sister, so I´d say it´s best to go with family members ... it´s safest too, because friendships can cool off over the years, but the good thing about being a family is it´s a lot harder not to stay in touch ....

If you can't choose a godmother, you could just have a godfather for your child, or else choose one of your siblings or one of your husband's siblings
