I hear people getting offended a lot about evolution, saying "We are not animals" or "we did not descend from apes".
Does this insult you on a personal level or is it simply that it goes against your religion? If it does simply insult you as a person to think you are an animal, why does it? Is it because you do not hold animals to be as worthy as humans, so to you it would be insulting?

I didn't mean for the title anti-evolutionists to be offensive, and I'm sorry if it seems that way. I just meant people that don't believe evolution is real.

Wow Fireball, you don't have a lot of experience with animals, do you? Maybe they don't read but many are amazing and intellegent.

I'm not sure what your rant is dude but I have read the bible and was a bible thumping Christian for several years to the point that some people thought it was weird. I studied my bible at lunch in high school.

Daniel, I'm not brainwashed as I take everything I learn one by one and decide whether to believe it. I also study various angles. But attacking me doesn't cover up your prejudice against animals. You think they are just designed to eat sleep and have sex? Many animals have very complecated social systems. Elephants have funerals and honor their dead. Your ignorance is astounding.

Dear, happykid,
I, myself, do not take any offense about what people say as far as coming from animals.
I do not accept the theory of evolution because it does not make any sense. But people that do believe keep trying to tell me that is does. And, they, continually say that, simply, education proves evolution. Which it does not. Just how arrogant can humans possibly be? To think that all things great and small can be explained away in such a novel way, is beyond me.
Evolutionists say that creationism is a myth. And does not make sense. But consider this: The theory of evolution is based on something coming out of nothing. Both creation and evolution are the same in that respect. But creationism has a reason and meaning. Evolution has nothing. It is theory so full of holes that anyone with any brains whatsoever can see that it is not probable.
The idea that life simply started up on it's own has odds of about 100 billion to one of that happening. And still just where did this life force come from?
And, evolutionists can not and will not ever be able to answer the very basic of questions about the theory. Why? Why evolve? It makes no sense. If there were cavemen and I believe that people did live in caves at one time, but actual cavemen that were bigger and stronger then us, why evolve away from that? Wouldn't it be better if we were bigger and stronger? And, of course, some people still live in caves even today.
And, so comes the next part. Not from monkeys but from a common ancestor. That makes the least sense of all. Monkeys and apes are stronger, better climbers, have tails to hang with, can use their feet like hands, have hair to protect their bodies, and live in family groups. So why would we not evolve those same abilities? Makes no sense whatsoever.

It is interesting that some people say that since evolution has a few flaws therefore it has no or little value or credibility. What value or credibility does creation have. The one source of information , the bible, has been proven false or unreliable time after time. So evolution has a few gaps. We are still learning. Which is much different from the bible bangers who say that they need no other source. Yet the Sumerian Tablets, which predate any written works used in the Old Testament talk about a 7 day celebration for the creation of the universe. A couple hundred years of oral tradition over the campfire and 7 days of celebration of the creation becomes 7 days of creation. Funny, none of the bible bangers seem to like that.

Evolution doesn't insult me at all nor does it disprove God. What is annoying is that people treat evolution as fact when it is scientifically labeled a theory and labeled that for good reason. What doesnt make sense is that evolution believers are basically taking on faith a scientific theory that hasnt been fully proven and thus closing their minds to the possibility of other scientific explanations. They are doing with evolution what they accuse creationists of doing with God.
You can think that based on the evidence that evolution is a good theory to believe how humans came to be, but to declare it as fact and rule out any other possibilities is unscientific and its silly. Even if you don't believe in God there are still holes to the theory and there is still a good possibility that other scientific explanations and proofs could come to light.
Adaptation has been proven within species. Between species however it just hasnt yet. Why don;t more evolutionists admit the theory has some flaws and either work to try to resolve those flaws scientifically or look to a possibility that something else took place.

I am not insulted the least and I am not exactly anti evolution. I do think that evolutionary theory has allot of flaws which few people want to admit or even are willing to question. There seems to be an unwillingness to consider any information presented by legitimate sources. it seems many would rather make jokes and listen to second hand sources. If you seriously would like to consider some legit material which challenges evolutionary theory I suggest the book evolution a theory in crisis by Michael Denton. Or the icons of evolution by Jonathan Wells. And the third is a book by Intelligent design advocate Michael Behe Darwin's Black Box. Many people criticize hi yet I find little evidence that more than a few of his critics have ever even read his material for themself. Odd that seems even unscholarly. It would seem a person should allow someone to express their own ideas in their wn words without distortion.

Mainly, because it is not true. Many animals are far more worthy than a lot of humans. No problem with that. Evolution is really silly.

Anti-Bible people (evolutionists) are very insulting.....and usually are the ones who haven't eevr even READ the entire Bible...yet that rail against it ..
Why does Satan fight so hard to make sure others don't believe the Bible is the truly Word of God? Do people really think we who have studied the Bible for 30 years will believe someone who probably never even read it?...people who for sure have not ever acted on it?
BTW, we are not animals....ha, ha, ha.

Dea happy, it insults me as a person, becasue we can see an obvous difference between man and animals. Animals cannot build grand staues, paint masterpeices, feel love and happiness. animals do not have a set of morals, they do not set up a court sytem. there are obvious differences between humans and animals, anumals are designed for only three things eat, sleep and have sex, were desinged with a purpose, we have an intitiative to excell, to work and to enjoy Life. I challenge you to give me one parallel betwen men and animals. Come on, are you Blind? or Just brainwashed? its Obvious that we play a much higher role n this creation.

I think it's pride for them mostly. They probably find it offensive. I'll bet that plays a bigger role than the fact that the bible seems to be against it.

As a squirrel, I find it offensive that you think I share a common ancestor with humans. Humans are weird and gross and don't have any fur.
