I think so and I think that serving God is a way of life to me. Not a religion. A religion is when a false God is given praise to. Serving God is basically accepting the truth that God is real. God is not a religious or religion figure. He hides himself for a reason. Maybe you should ask him.

Well since all gods are false, an atavistic holdover from our primitive ancestors, whether you "serve" a god or a religion makes no difference. You are still following a self deluded path.

My opinion is that God made faith and man made religion..Ive read the bible alot and know it well. And, no where in the bible does it say that you should be catholic, methodist, luthern, episcapal, baptist or any other denomination...and religion is stupid because every member claims that their religion is the right one and that what they belive is the only way. Heres the truth plain and simple. Jesus Christ is the only way to get to heaven, and Gods son. He will come again...and serving God is much more than just beliveng that he is there. And i would certainly not phrase God as a "religious" figure...So yes in a way i agree, Being a christian is a way of life, and a good christian should serve God...Im not sure if I answered your question right..but I hope that this helps anyways:)

Religion - when man does what he thinks is right in Gods eyes. Taking credit for what was done for him. It cheapens what Christ did. It becomes works based like the Law was works based.

Relationship with God is different. You are humble before God. You are thankful for His mercy and grace. Then you have freedom and liberty in God just as Paul described.

Both lead to doing nearly the same works but one is done because you feel you need to do it to score points. The other is done because you want fellowship with God. Do you want to serve God OR do you feel you have to do things to keep in right standing. Big difference.

You might look into why you are so reactionary to religion. If the religions hadn't continued, the teachings would have disappeared long ago. And how would you know then, the way to go?

I agree, teachings have been distorted. but we can still learn the correct ones if we dig them out.

The definition of a religion is basically making your faith into a way of life. Stop fighting "Religion" Religion is not your enemy. Sin is, and the father of lies. Not religion.
