You should give it to the girl who inspired it or just keep it to yourself if you don't think she'll appreciate it...For the love of God, don't give it to someone else who might like you because that is just really lame. If it wasn't inspired by them then it really has no meaning for them and to give it to them under the false assumption that it was for them, just cheapens what you wrote and doesn't show any true respect or feelings for them. I would be extremely offended if someone gave me something they wrote only to find out later on that it was originally intended for someone else. If you find someone who likes you and that you like enough back to give them something that you wrote, why not write something original based on your TRUE emotions for them. take care and good luck...

If you are close with the girl that was your inspiration then you should share it with her and not some strange girl that may pop into your life. As a fellow musician I must tell you that your words are beautiful and should touch the heart of any woman. I would actually be honored to hear the finshed product down the line some time. As far as "keeping it up your sleeve" for someone else I wouldent do it. You should be able to share your songs with the person you love and you can tell them that you wrote it a long time ago but loved the song so you never stopped sining it even after your feelings for that person faded. If you want to sing a home grown song to a woman it should be from the heart and about them. Either way, your words are beautiful and made me smile. I hope that your words are honest, and truly reflect the person that you are and hope to be. Good luck with everything and keep up with your music.

I think you should give it to the girl who inspired it. I'm sure she'll be happy to know she's an inspiration to your musical talent. Giving it to someone who likes you seems sorta corny, like when Chris Klein is singing the same song he wrote for a girl to the nurse, except he changes the name in 'Just Friends'. Noone loves the smarmy guy, trust me. ;)

That's very sweet! I'd say to both; give to the person who inspired you and if someone else in the future does too, give it to her too. You can have more than one person to inspire you on one level you know?
