I PURCHASED MY PUPPY FROM A BREEDER. MY AGREEMENT SAYS THAT THE PAPERS WILL BE DELIVERED IN 4-6 WEEKS . THAT WAS MONTHS AGO. I HAVE SPOKEN TO THE BREEDEER WHO SAYS SHE HAS THE PAPERS AND TO CALL BACK LATER AND WE WOULD GET THIS HANDLED, NOW I CANNOT GET HER TO ANSWER THE PHONE. WHAT LEGAL ACTION CAN I TAKE TO GET MY DOGS PAPERS?

Question .. How many times have said to people DO NOT BUY A PUPPY WITHOUT THE LITTER REGISTRATION.

Answer: Millions of times..

Give up you not going to get them. But you can threaten to take her to court..But if she hasn't given them to you yet.. I doubt very much she has them..Did you think on seeing the papers for the parents of the puppy..Never Never buy a puppy with out the litter registration.

If you are referring to AKC papers, you may be completely out of luck. BYDer's are known for this and also for falsifying papers. If you are dealing with a competent breeder and are waiting for the Pedigree papers go to the breeder and ask again. They are usually on the ball but paperwork can get held up.

I find it best to deal with people face to face, so a little trip to the breeder may be the next step.

you would have to take her to small claims court. My guess is she never sent in for the puppies. And don't expect any help from AKC they are useless. basicaly the papers are too, but people don't know that. My friend sold a dog to another breeder. she returned the dog but refused to return the papers. meaning she will use those papers on any dog she chooses and AKC will never know the diffrence. happnes more than you will ever know some even aren't full blooded. they are mutts

When you are buying a dog from a breeder there is nothing wrong with asking for references from others that have bouight from them. Many breeders publish reference letters on their website complete with names and contact information.

We had the same problem with our purebred cats. You need to go to the breeder's house and get the papers. It turned out our cats' breeder had the papers in her house the whole time; she was just too lazy to send them to us.

Check your states Puppy Lemon Laws. The pet store I bought my dog from never gave me my papers and I got a refund on the dog and got to keep the dog.
