I'm A Stranger Here lyrics by FIVE MAN ELECTRICAL BAND

Well I’m a stranger here in this place called Earth
And I was sent down here to discover the worth
Of your little blue planet third from the sun
Come on and show me what you’ve done

We got the aero plane, we got the automobile
We got sky scraper buildings made of glass and steel
We’ve got synthetic food that nearly tastes real
And a little white pill that makes you feel
Hey, A whole lot better when you get out of bed
You take one in the morning for the lovelier head
We got everything everybody needs to survive
Surely the good life has arrived

I think your atmosphere is hurting my eyes
And your concrete mountains are blacking the skies
Now I don’t say that you’ve been telling me lies
But why do I hear those children’s cries

I’m a stranger here, I’m just looking around

I see the aero planes carrying the bombs
Why, you’ve even found people to drop them on
You know you can’t keep what you take by force
But it’s only my first impression of course.

Well I’m a stranger here on your planet Earth

We got the rivers and the mountains and the valleys and the trees
We got the birds in the sky and the fish in the sea
We got the –
Oh you crazy fools don’t you know you had it made
You were living in paradise
But take it from one who knows
Who knows the gates of Heaven can close
I only pray that you take my advice
Because Paradise won’t come twice.

Well I’m a stranger here in this place called Earth
And I was sent down here to discover the worth
Of your little blue planet third from the sun
I think I’ll go back home where I come from.

While others around you continue to guess, or even claim they know, what life after death could possibly be like, those who have experienced NDEs have a more profound knowledge and understanding of what it really means to depart the physical realm. I could only imagine that all I have been indoctrinated with or that I hear from other people would change with such an experience. Perhaps there's a better understanding of the life cycle that actually occurs in this world and the next.

Mind altering of your subjective view point. This world is real but each of us has a subjective view point that "belongs" only to us. If you alter that view point your view must change.

This is not a matter of rocket science or great spiritual understanding. We see this in depictions of various artists, photographers, writers, etc. It is just hard to see that we are "painting" an expression with our own daily living.

You do not need a near death experience to make this or similar types of changes. They can come by stress, by revelation, by intuition, by disaster, by fasting, by meditation, etc. We can do the meditaton, fasting and work on intuition, etc.

I think revelation, disaster and near death are in the class of external events that, should you survive, may be considered situations of great grace or mercy for any individual. I try to value every day as another day of grace. Yet I do not discount that death may also involve God's grace and mercy. He deals with us case by case.

Your experience is at least a wake up call to be sober and vigilant.

Near death is not the stress I am speaking of. Great blessings and joy can also show us to be strangers. An old song notes --- This world is not my home, I'm just a pass'n through. My treasurers are laid up somewhere beyond the blue. The angels beckon me from heaven's open door and I can't feel at home in this world anymore.

Nothing wrong with feeling like a stranger unless you also feel all alone in your strangerness; with no answers and an inability to make loving contact with God and other people.

That's typical a lot of people feel that way nowdays.

I have felt that way since I was young and now that you say it. I had an nde at age 5. I think there is something about them that reminds you of your purpose and looking at life form the outside in.
Dannion Brinkley. com talks of a life review at his first nde in the book Saved by the Light. Could be the rest of us don't remember this.
But I also have friends who haven't had nde's that feel "on the earth but not of the earth."
Ii suggest you make the prayers to join with a group.

I've felt that way a long time. Like I didn't belong anywhere. Is that what it means? I've felt as if I were pretending and making it up as I went along. However, I've never had a near death experience.

Because you've seen what happens after life. You don't have the same views of life and death that the rest of us have. Alot of people say it completely changes their lives for better or worse. It's not uncommon to feel disconnected from the everyday pace since you had this experience.

i'll answer your question with this statement -

"We are not physical beings on a spiritual journey, but spiritual beings on a physical journey."

you are just a little more tuned into the spiritual world now, so allow the feelings to happen. if they become painful or disturbing, seek some help from a counselor who has dealt with people who have experienced NDE's.

You never belonged to this world in the first place. You are here only temporarily and you're on your way home.

Because you faced death you touched eternity for a second. This should remind you of your Maker and your connection to Him. He is calling your name. He wants you to live the rest of your life in fellowship with Him.

Many people who have NDEs have a fundamental change in their outlook on life. You know what you experienced and no one else can tell you why it affects you as it does.
