The devil was once an angel named Lucifer. The most beautiful angel of them all. He thought he was better than God and wanted all the other angels to follow him and not God. Lucifer was punished and 1/3 of the angels fell with Lucifer and were banished from Heaven. He became ugly and was transformed into something ugly. We know him as the devil.
God created him and gave him a mind and a free will to chose right from wrong, just like he gave us humans that right. God knew everything that was going to happened Before it happened. He did it to see which one of us is truly deserving of Him and seeing him after death.

God did not create the devil.
God created angels and 1 of them made himself a devil.
If your father did everything to give you a fine start in life, but you rejected it ....where does the responsibility lie for the woes you would encounter.
Its with you. You rejected a beautiful offer.
You will now say: But God knew He would rebel!
What if He did?
Would you have God snuff out his life BEFORE doing anything bad?
If God did that, the Devil and all mankind could accuse God of prejudice.
One is obliged to let matters manifest themselves ...and then solve the problem.

Because religion is a social construct designed to keep society in check. People are naturally inclined to do good and bad. At some point someone said there is absolute chaos around here, took charge and invented God. God had to be good and all powerful so that the people would listen and do good. But when they asked, "If God is so good, then why do bad things happen to us?" Someone said "There is also a thing called the devil and he is bad. Listen to God and you will go to a magical place where everything is great." It's just like the movies. Every good movie has to have a villain; somebody to hate. I could go on, but you all probably hate this answer anyway...

I wouldn't want to make a bunch of robots to serve me either. He created the devil (once a cherub in heaven) and mankind so he would have the oppotunity to have some love him because they choose to. Even though he knew they would turn against him, God also knew that their would be some that wouldn't. What don't you get. R U accusing God of being stupid? Fool!

I can understand why you'd be frustrated with this seemingly biblical contradiction. Why would a supposedly loving and all knowing God choose to bring such a creature like Lucifer into existence?
When God created angelic beings, he also gave them free will. Angels and humans have the ability to decide for themselves. Lucifer became a fallen angel because of what he chose. He desired God's authority and position for himself.
While Lucifer chose to go against God, there were angels who chose to love God. In this way, God would know his true followers. Lucifer was not the only fallen angel. About 1/3 heaven's angels were thrown out with him.

Depends on who you believe the devil is. In Gnosticism it is Yaldaboath also known as Yahweh, the god of the Old Testament. He was not created by the Father, he was an emanation of Sophia (Wisdom). Her original sin of bringing Yaldaboath forward started the whole cosmic drama.

So the devil could corrupt the white man and make the white man greedy and selfish, because the white man and white woman are the original sinners and will be delt with accordingly when judgement day comes.....the white man has invaded everyones way of life in the entire world and forced "democracy"...down the throats of people who have their OWN religious beliefs and were forced to conform to the white man's way of life....damn...white devils!

God also created you, knowing you would turn against him as well. Considering your own disrespect, He could have only created you out of love. There's no other reason to tolerate such disobedience.
