We got him and already had red eyes...they told us that his sister's eyes were worse and it was only about 3 days since it had started. Puppy is 3 1/2 months old and they were giving him drops when we got him and they told us this also.

When we got home, we realised that they didn't give us any eye drops nor tell us what kind they were on...we called and they said not to worry about it as they only had given drops for a couple days to clear up the redness. Now, puppies eyes got better the second day and weren't red anymore. However his eyes are red and lots of discharge, we have to clean his face at least once a day...it gets all hard and crusty & it's light brown or slighty yellow.

We have a vet appointment on Friday morning to get final shots an rabbies vacc but I want to know what we can do at home in the meantime?

I wouldn't medicate him until the vet checks him. Call your vet back and explain about the eyes, if the vet doesn't already know. They may be able to get you in today or tomorrow. Eye infections can be nasty.

Boy you were told a bunch of junk! Puppies in good health should not have red eyes or goop crusting from their eyes. If possible get the pup into the vets sooner. He really needs to be seen. Sounds like he has pink eye which is contagious among litter mates. I'd also report the people you got the puppy from. They are irresponsible.
In the mean time just continue to wipe the pups eyes off with a clean cloth dipped in warm water. Make sure you wash your hands and don't use the cloth for anything else but to wipe the pups eyes. Clean the cloth with hot soapy water after each time you use it to wipe his eyes off. Be very careful not to wipe the eyeball itself!

Hard lesson. You should never buy a puupy that has ANYTHING wrong with it. We give a written health guarantee with each puppy and a 72 hour return policy if your vet finds any problems. I wouldn't wait until Friday. He needs to see a vet TODAY.

Don't mess with the puppy's eyes you could harm them, You could put a warm wet cloth to the dogs eyes to relieve the pain, it sounds like pink eye. He needs to see a vet.

till you can get him checked at the vet keep his eyes clean with a warm but not hot damp rag. It very well could be allergies. My dogs have this same type of thing every spring. Hope your pup gets better soon.

Make sure you tell the vet about this..........
Puppy's don't need to spend valuable energy
fighting these battles toward good health.

For one that breeder should not have sold you that dog. I suggest you try and take the dog back or atleast try and get some money back. He probably has pink eye.
