You must be a Geordie! I love it too, not just in a bun but with a ham salad. It's normally "pease pudding" and is made from dried yellow split peas. Any votes for "steepit peas", dried green marrowfat peas served in traditional Lancashire "Pie and pea suppers" - individual meat pie sitting on top of soaked boiled peas with a good dash of malt vinegar on top, not to mention mushy peas with fish and chips!

I love pease pudding, but not in a bun. How do you stop it squirting up the wall when you bite?! Great with boiled bacon, saveloys, faggots (blimey does nanny yahoo allow us to use that word? I'll soon find out!)

We ate it a lot as kids & the best bit is that the tinned stuff is pretty much as good as my Mum made then!

Peas pudding hot,
Peas pudding cold
Peas pudding in the pot nine days old.

Never tried it, only know the Rhyme.

Is it similar to a Yorkshire Pud ?
