Why do parents think their kids know it all with regards to sex when its clear they dont with all the myths?.
Look around this site even...
to see all the can you get pregnant doing this or that?
Or we did this could we be pregnant or didn't do that.
Why dont all parents get a exam with all the mythes and make sure the kid gets a 100% mark or no dating.

Of course that means going it no detail with things like using fingers that have touched 'sausages; which have not been washed after the juice slipped out.
Etc...
As so much bull goes round that gets kids pregnant.
Likewise why do parents insist teenagers are children when biologically they are not?
ie they are teenagers.
children cant produce children

Kinda fed up with having to help all these kids and the heartbreak thinking their lives are now ruined as pregnant as info was held back from them so bull poop filled the gap

Due to hormones teenagers will want to do it the most, and loose virgntiy and have ththe strongest feeligns.
i mean look at boy band fans screaming and going bonkers as one of the boy band members took off his shirt and they all cry and think they are in love...
Likewise the boys running up internet bills into porn
And who do you see making out all over the place...
30 year olds or teenagers?

Sex ed usually is totally inadequate.
Ie it does not cover things like foreplay and all thats under the category of 3rd base.
Ie bjs which can get you stds. but all that foreplay stuff essnetial for good first time.
Also it tneds to be cnetered around marriage and babies which usually does not occur till age 30.
it needs to be around going on holday and getting drunk in nightclubs and doing it in the ally out the back, or in parties in the loos, or in cars

I agree with you 100%. I am also sick of reading "Am I pregnant"
or "Could I be pregnant" and it is asked by girls as young as 13! Myths about sex are still alive and well.

I know what you mean by seeing all the questions on here "Could I be pregnant if..." Obviously there was a breakdown in communication somewhere along the way. I think often, the parents are too embarassed to talk to the children about it, don't want the schools to, only want to preach abstinence, etc. There are so many reasons for this, and I don't think the answer is 'pass this quiz or you can't date.' You were young once (or maybe even still are)...surely you must recall that when told not to do something, you will be more determined than ever to do it come hell or high water. I think complete education at a young enough age in school, in every school is much needed. Preaching abstinence only gets nowhere and only leads to more problem. Make birth control more readily available to everything (and affordable as well).
One correction though on your statement...yes, often it is children having children. Young girls are getting their periods much earlier these days and yes, kids are having sex younger and younger. Well before they are actually teenagers.

Many parents are too embarrassed to sit down with their children & talk about the birds & bees. Maybe because they don't know where to start. Some parents may have experienced the same thing when they were their children's ages. Still, many parents think it's up to the schools to educate their children when it comes to sex. That would only make their children think that sex is a taboo & is dirty & not to be talked about at home behind closed doors. Therefore, their children grow up hearing & believing myths. I agree with you, it's evident by some of the questions that the young people are asking here. It's not wrong for them to ask questions, as they have a normal curiosity about such things, but they should be able to go to their parents, adult family members, or their guardians for answers.

Ok for one a teenager is still a child just because their body is growing and can reproduce doesn't mean mentally, emotionally, financially that they are ready for sex or the consequences and parents should sit down with their children and explain stuff to them but they should also teach their children abstinence! Which I wish they would. I also don't think kids need to date as bad as the rest of the world they should be worried about school and academics at that point in their life and worry about dating and sex when they are actual legal adults.

Maybe parents are embarrased talking to their own kids about sex & think it should be up to the school to do the sex education. Schools I think should have a responsibility to make sure all children are informed as parents can't be relied on. Problem with this is that the kids who are most likely to get pregnant are the ones who play truant & would probably miss the sex education lesson! It is a problem.
