I thought this guy liked me. I wasn’t sure, but the signs seemed to be there. He was always staring at me and looked away when I caught him, called me occasionally for stupid reasons, would sometimes mess around with me, make fun of me (in a nice way), would sit by my in class but wouldn’t talk to me. Thing is, this guy is a jerk. A huge, obnoxious, jerk. He has been really mean to the girls he’s gone for.
This was a few months ago. Then I started to like HIM. Somehow this *****, his friend, heard about it and said the guy would never get with me. A few weeks ago, she, and maybe him, were spreading rumors and making me look pathetic. Now he ignores me or is even mean to me. I think he might be starting to like this other girl too. I don’t know what to do. Did he like me? Is he unattracted to me now? Could I still get him? Is it too late?

If this guy is a obnoxious jerk, why would you want to be his gf? You say he has been mean to the other girls that he's gone for. Why in the world would you want to be involved with him in any way? Your still in high school, guys will come and go, but let this one go. Ignore what he and this other girl are saying, and soon enough they will move on to being mean to someone else.

he sounds like a jerk, but if you really want to be with him you need to go up to him when his friend is not around (or if she is around, tell him you need to talk and pull him aside). Tell him 'i thought we were cool, what happened?' or 'for some reason i have a thing for you. but you've been acting like a jerk and now i'm starting to rethink the whole thing... so just tell me, do you want to be with me or not?'
yes, you do have to be that direct with this guy, because he is so insecure that he will sabotage every more subtle advance in the fear that you might not like him.
if you say this to him, he will either be honest and say yes he likes you, and then you have him and the friend is powerless.... or he will get scared again and say no i don't like you! and then you can say okay and be done with him. and if he starts acting like he likes you again you can say 'why are you here? i thought you didn't like me' if you want to be mean.
notice i didn't say 'if' he likes you because he obviously does.

Read the signs. If the latest sign tells you hes not gonna make you happy than go with it. But if thers that little voice inside you tellingyou to get with him then fallow you heart and do what you think is best.

You can't make people like you if you they don't want. If a man looks attracted towards you and now attracted towards another, then guarantee is not there that he can fall for another 3rd woman. I feel he uses women from my viewpoint. If he doesn't look at you then don't go for him. Sit in your class attend your class well and don't give your attention to him. Find a good dude the one who cares for you really rather than running towards good looks.

Why would you even want to be interested in a guy like that? He will not treat you well, the way you deserve to be treated.
I am sure that there are many nice young men around. Don't open your heart to any guy who will not cherish your heart and cherish you

These could be signs that he likes you. If he wont stop staring at you. This what happened with me and my boyfriend he kept staring at me and always messin round wiv me. A few weeks later he asked me out then BAM im with him.
So look out for more signs

This boy is playing a game that boys and men alike have played for years! if you really like him...and I see no good reason why you should...cause he sound like a real jerk...date some other guy and move on...you soon become irresistible and have him questioning why you don't like him...

Walk up to him and ask him why he's spreading such hurtful rumors about you, then right before he answers burst out crying, he'll feel uncomfortable and everyone will know what an asswipe he is.

No he don't like you. He just used you for having sex. You will find someone who will treat you much better. Next time take it slow and get to know the person's good and bad side.
