It's caused by Chlorophyll a chemical produced in the plant through photosynthesis.

the chlorophyll pigment present in the leaf has got a green colour.
wen the light falls on it all the other colours in VIBGYOR except the green is absorbed and as a result it looks green

As written earlier it is due to chlorophyl .. And all leaves are not green. As long as they can carryon with photosynthesis, the leaf color is not the cause of much concern.

its quite simple b'coz of the presence of green pigment called CHLOROPHYLL.& also when light rays falls it absorbs all the colours except GREEN.
