How do I tell a guy that I really like that I like him, without ruining the friendship that I already have with him?

My friend had a similar situation so I told her to go for it. She told him that she had some strong feelings for him but added that she was afraid to express them for fear of ruining their friendship. They talked about it and she discovered that he had the same feelings towards her but was afraid that she didnt feel the same way. Long story short they're head over heels for each other but the only problem is that he has a girlfriend. So I suggest that if you want to make things happen with your relationship then do it fast before another girl does. Good Luck
