I've heard of sending sulphites into the atmosphere to create a human volcano to stop the rate of climate change. Would a human made volcanic eruption(by way of a bomb) do the job?

It would lower temperatures, but very short term. When Mt Pinatubo erupted in the 1980's the resulting ash in the atmosphere depressed temperatures globally (up to 2 degrees in some places) for about 4 years, but then everything went back to normal.

To make this work you would need to be able to replicate this eruption every 4 to 5 years.
