I'm 32 - & @ 25 diagnosed with Endometriosis and 6 months ago diagnosed by several doctors with Fibromyalgia. 2 conditions that there is nothing I can do except deal with it, The Endo has no cure except the obvious is a hysterectomy and that's not even 100% that it will go away, and I'm to young to do that , Dr.'s say I have to wait till I'm 35 because I have no children. and the Fibromyalgia, another condition that has no cure, well because they don't know what causes the pain. So, because of this I'm in in a constant state of pain. I deal with it 90% of the time by just telling myself there is nothing I can do about it and move on, but there are days, MAN I hurt so bad I can hardly move, so I don't and become completely non productive, and the obvious depressed. My Dr put me on an anti-depressant it works for the most part with the depression but the pain is dulled but never gone. I have tried exercise doesn't help. So was wondering if anyone out there is dealing w/ this

I feel your pain...
I have endometriosis and had a particularly bad day today.
A year ago September I suddenly felt excruciating pain. Unbearable. I eventually went in for a laperoscopy DandC. They found out i had a severe case of Endo. They did a salpingo oopherectmy (removed right ovary and philopian tube) and they tried to salvage/clean up the endo from my uteris and left side. They had to do open surgery. It was awful.
They said that if the pain persists, the only thing to do is a full hysterectomy. I really don't want that.
They also said that usually women who have pain from Endo, do not have a lot of the disease. Women who don't feel pain usually have the worst cases of Endo. (I'd had it for +20 years witout pain and it was very bad.) Since the surgery I've continued to have pain off and on (but not as bad as last September.) Maybe that means I only have a little Endo? & I told myself that I would put up with a lot of pain before doing that surgery!
For now... to relieve the pain I take mobicox or Tylenol #3 or Tramacet.
I also have had great results from practicing meditation and belly breathing. I can now reduce the severity of the pain. Sometimes i can get rid of the pain by meditating.
Try seeing a specialist at a Pain Management Centre. Accupuncture helps too.
Good luck.

At age 28 I had a hyster, the pain and bleeding was so bad that there was not other option. I had already had two children and my tubes tied. You on the other hand , need to get pregnant ASAP, as the uterine fibers grow, there may be no place for a fertile egg to plant. Since the hyster, I have had not pelvic problems, glad i had it done. I now have fibro, and sometimes the pain is really bad and scary. Especially in the jaw , left arm, the legs are the worst on me. I take meds , pain meds, occasional steroid pack when it is bad, muscle relaxers when it is bad. It is important for you to not get over tired and get enough sleep at night, this helps with the symptoms. I really do feel for you. I have gone on yahoo support groups for this, and reading what other people go thru and some of the humor posted really has helped with the "why me" syndrome. Good luck, if you want to e-mail me please do so, would love to help more.

Despite what Ron C says, fibro is a very real disease, would like him to see the swelling along my upper back when it flares up. My doctor has never offered pshyc meds !!! If this is not a true disease, then why is there so much research and why is it now approved as a social security disability. Saying fibro is not a disease is saying Lupus is not a disease as the sympts can be similar.

Empathy - fibromyalgia before it was defined.
I use a chiropractor that is a muscle speciallist. He uses an activator (no manual manipulation) and ultrasound (to shrink the muscle damage) he told me about the book at the bottom. A massage therapist because sometimes I just cant inflict enough pressure on myself to get the knots out.
Yeast overgrowth seems to be parallel with the fibro - health food stores can recommend options - begin slowly die-off causes muscle pain if it is system wide. Replace the dead bad yeast that puts toxins in our systems with probiotics (the refrigerated ones are best).

STAY AWAY FROM SUGARS it makes the pain worse.

Much pain is from muscles below is an example of what may help (based on headaches).
Begin with a couple swigs of molasses or a couple of bananas (natural muscle relaxers) daily - magnesium (which regulates many things in the body) and potassium (a needed building block for muscles).
Drink at least 1/2 gallons of water per day. Running a body low on water is like running a car low on oil is the analogy the head of neurology at UCDavis told my husband about 10 years ago.

Now to the cause - muscles - your back, neck shoulders and head have tender spots. They are knots in the fibers of the muscles called trigger points. It makes the muscles tight which makes them press on nerves and other things causing the pain.

The cure - start with a professional massage, (if this does not do it you probably need a chiropractor as well) you will also want to go back over any place you can get to 6-12 times per session up to 6 times per day rubbing (or lightly scratching on your head) every where that is tender until the knots go away. The place where the skull connects to the spine press up under the edge of the skull (to get to those muscles).

For more information read The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies. It teaches what to do and where the pain comes from.

I am in my late 20's and have Fibromyalgia but not Endometriosis. What helps me is a pain pill perscribed by my dr. or a muscle relaxor that helps as well. The other thing that helps are Massages. I get massages once a month. Some people get them more often if they can afford them. The other thing that helps me is Glucosamine Sulfate. Oh ya and just thought of one more thing a BComplex Pill. I use to not agree with my Nature Path Dr. But after not taking it a couple days I really noticed a difference. It really helped. Now I will never live a day with out taking BComplex.

Fybromyalgia is a term doctors came out with a few years ago.what it means is that physically there is no reason for the person having pain ..basically it's all in your head.If you tell someone they look like they are in pain eventually that person will start to think they have pain..so the best thing to deal with it is to tell yourself over and over again that you have no pain..tell yourself it's all in your head..I have a friend who also is plagued with the same problem and she is doing what i just said and it's helping her greatly ..she also got some cd's on pain hypnosis wich is also helping her alot..As for your other problem with the endo..i would get a second opinion ..there have been exceptions where the doctors have done hystorectomies so the person can have a more comfortable life..if you don't plan on having children you should be able to sign a waver to get the procedure done..good luck with everything..
