Scrape by hand. We used sharpened heavy duty putty knives. Or you can rent a powered scraper from Home Depot or other nearby tool supply.

ok depending on if the carpet is a jute back or rubber back take this approach. If it really is stuck down and hard to pull on, cut the carpet length ways with a sharp utily knife in 12 in strips. Pull each strip up as you cut them. Once all carpet is up and the excess glue remains..use a 8 inch scraper. They sell them at any local carpet supply store or Home depot. The scrapper has a razor sharp cutting edge so scrapping it up is a snap. Then if not installing carpet back use a glue remover, pick it up same place and scrub it off after letting it sit for a few minutes. Whole job time on a 2 car garage...oh, about 2 hours max for a novice.

well that's a job but if you want it up this is what you need to do you can do this the same way you remove tile that was glued down start at any corner and pull up some part of the carpet use a hair dryer to loosen up the glue as some one pulls at it this will soften up the glue base to allow you to pull it up and as for the remaining glue on the cement floor your going to have to use a acetone to brake it down then use a ice scraper the one with a pole on it to scrap it up.It's time consuming but this will work Please make sure you have good air flow when you use the acetone chems and NO smoking or flames
