My dogs eat grass and I don't worry unless the grass has been treated with fertilizers or other chemicals. This is what I found at the following website: http://www.healthypet.com/

Is it OK for my dog to eat grass?

Question We have a four-year-old, mixed, neutered male dog who is our child! He resembles a Basenji, but of course is too large and barks. He has this habit of frequently eating grass. Our veterinarian says he is healthy, and we shouldn't worry because some dogs just eat grass as a habit. Do you have any suggestions?

Answer Grass eating by dogs and cats is considered normal by most veterinarians. Dogs in the wild do the same thing to supplement their diet with vegetation. I would only be concerned about access to grass that has been treated with herbicides, insecticides, or fertilizers that might cause illness. If chemicals have not been used on the grass, your pooch can graze away!

Eating grass is how dogs worm themselves. Though dogs will eat some grass for food they eat lots of grass at 1 time then will try to throw it up to help get rid of worms or anything else that might not have digested or be upsetting the stomache. This is a natural act though some dogs take it to extreme. Have your dog checked for worms vets will do it for 20.00 without an office visit. You just bring in a fecal sample. Watch him to see if he throws up then check it to see whats in it. If he doenst stop in a day or to see the vet.

He's a dog and dogs eat grass. It settles their stomachs or will make something stuck in their stomachs come back up. Totally normal and nothing to worry about.

I'm not a vet, but I've been a pet owner for years and my understanding is that animals eat grass when then have an upset stomach. Either the grass soothes their stomach, or it causes them to throw up, either way, relieving the discomfort.

Most dogs do do that. Sometimes its because they have stomach aches and grass makes them puke which makes them feel better. But most dogs do eat grass so you got nothing to worry about

he has an upset stomache. He should throw up after doing so. be careful what he gets to eat. If it was after his shots. And he had two there maybe a chance you only want to do one at a time next time. I have 1 of my babies that can not have two shots at the same time.

my puppy went through this stage to- some dogs do it because they do not feel well (it makes them throw up) but some dogs just like grass. if he throws it up, and then keeps eating grass and throws up again- watch him, if he does it a third time that means he probably doesnt feel well- (if he does it twice and stops he learned eating that green stuff makes him puke ! haha) my dog threw up grass two days in a row, and then stopped.
