Career counslers at college help you in role into the classes you need to, to help you get your degree in the career that you choose.

I think they are there to guide you into a field of study your aptitude, personality and interests are most suited for, they will explain the various options, present the pros and cons of the choices open to you........and help you determine which path you are most interested in AND best suited for....
