Coton du Tulear are hypo allergenic dogs but they are very expensive and most breeders have a long waiting list. You can also look on the American Kennel Club website and they can make recommendations.

A poodle. Depending on how big you think is big, they come in three sizes. The toy stands less than 10" tall and will typically weigh 5-10 lbs. The mini stands 10-15" tall and weighs 15-20 lbs. The standard is more than 15" and weighs anywhere from 50-70 lbs. To some people even a standard would be considered small, although they are typically very large in "volume" since they are lanky. I have severe allergies to dogs, but poodles never set me off, even if I touch one then touch my face. They are also among the smartest dogs available so training will be really easy. They are also one of the least shedding dogs because of their curly coat. Any hair that falls out is trapped in the curls. This does make brushing very important, but it only takes 10-20 minutes each day. I would not recommend giving a bath as often as every week. Dogs have different skin and hair than humans and a bath every week is irritating to them. (Unless they get very dirty on a regular basis.)
Check the AKC website at www.akc.org. They have lots of information about all breeds. Once you choose the one you like the website will have contact info for both rescues and breeders in your area.

do some research on the internet...and dogs will shed no matter what...but you can prevent them from shedding a whole bunch and preventing your boyfriend from sneezing by giving the dog a bath once a week. There are shampoos out there that help with human allergies and of course, if he's willing, he can take allergy pills. As far as type of dog, depending on where you live, how much time you intend to spend with the dog, etc. will determine what type of dog fits your lifestyle. There are places on the internet where you take a quiz and it will give you ideas on what kind of dog to get. Never hurts to research because it's better to have knowledge than going in, buying/adopting the dog and then having to get rid of it. Hope this helps!

Miniature Doberman Pinschers are great dogs. they dont shed alot or have alot of hair and they are very family oriented lap dogs. they're really sweet and each one has its own personality. They LOVE to sleep under the covers in your bed with you. They are also very protective and good guard dogs, not afraid of anything. I have two one who is 12 years and one who is 4 years old. My 12 year old is still as loving and as much of a lap dog as when she was a puppy. My 4 year old still acts like a puppy. They are smart dogs and really easy to train, they also come in a lot of different colors.

I agree with the other user. You should get a Chiuaua. However you spell it. Some chiuauas have hardly any hair on them.

people who are allergic to animals aren't allergic so much to the fur as to the dander and other things that ANY animal has. I can't get any pet with fur because of my son's allergies. he can't breathe after just a couple hours with a dog or cat.

Mix breeds are great! May I suggest contacting your local Humane Shelter? I volunteer at one and I've seen many great success stories with people being matched up with pets in need of a good home.
