I'm not a doctor, but it sounds like you very well could have an eating disorder. Lots of girls who have eating disorders don't feel hungry, I'm not sure why but that's what I've always heard. See a doctor, you need help. and don't think you're fat. 5'6 and 100 pounds? It sounds like you're skinny. God bless.

Okay, the real question is.. do you feel fat? or do you think you're fat? Maybe it's bloatyness, however if you think you are fat you most certainly are not, trust me. An eating disorder comes with many complications and emotions, I would suggest talking to someone you trust and love about this subject. Depriving yourself from food can only worsen the weight situation, I know you've probably heard it all before, but it's really true - eating and exercising healthy is the best way to go. Not eating slows down your metabolism and it can do many harms to your body. This may be just a beggining stage but you can't let it go ANY farthur, it's very dangerous :[ . Honestly, talk to someone you know, maybe a school counciler or a nurse? They might have the answers you need.

All in all: Good luck with it, I hope you make out for the best :]

Only a doc can really diagnose you. But you are underweight, which is a symptom of anorexia. Everyone (or most people, at least) feel fat or bad about their bodies sometimes, but feeling fat all the time when you're underweight is a red flag. I'm 20 now, and I've pretty much recovered from my eating disorder--I had anorexia, and it started when I was 17. I know what you mean about not feeling hungry--I didn't either. That can be because (I've heard other people say this, too) after you haven't eaten for a while (or have only eaten very little) you stop feeling hungry. But that doesn't mean your body doesn't need food! Having anorexia and being underweight made me lose a lot of my hair, and it made me depressed and unable to concentrate. Plus, I got a lot weaker because your body will lose muscle if it's not getting enough food. That was really miserable for me. And so is feeling like you're fat! I feel a lot better now that I've recovered, and I look better too.

So here's what I would do if I were you: if you feel comfortable talking with your parents or a close relative, tell them about how you feel fat and haven't been eating. Tell them you're worried you have an eating disorder and would like to see a doctor to make sure you're okay. If you don't feel comfortable talking with a relative, talk to your school nurse or counselor or a teacher you like--you'd be surprised how much people really want to help. That's what they're there for--situations like yours! Or a friend's parent or a coach or just any adult you trust. So don't be afraid to ask for help. And if you can't think of anyone you trust to talk to, you can call the Girls and Boys Town Hotline at 1-800-448-3000. I've called it before, and the people there are really nice. They'll listen to you and help you figure out what to do. Plus, it's not just a suicide hotline like most hotlines--they're just there to help teens with whatever problems they have--dating, family problems, anxiety, whatever. Everybody needs help sometimes, so there's no shame in asking for it. You'll feel a lot better when you're not carrying this worry around all by yourself.

Good luck, and stay strong! Sounds like you're having a tough time, but I know you can get better. :) *hug*

I would talk to your parents about taking you to the doctor. I know that at your age sometimes I would feel overwhelmed by school or stress from friends and it would make me feel like I couldn't eat. I have never had an eating disorder, but I have experienced lack of appetite before. Don't freak out though, if you have the desire to eat, but just don't have the appetite it doesn’t sound like a "disorder", but I'm not a doctore so I still think you should see a doctor. And make sure you are honest about all of your physical and mental feelings with the dr. so he/she can make a clear diagnosis. In the mean time I would try and figure out something to eat, anything. I know that when I was feeling a lack of appetite I would eat something that didn't take a lot of effort like scrambled eggs, mashed potatoes or mac & cheese. I hope this helps and take care of yourself.
