Personally, I try to learn, teach and clear misconceptions.

It's primarily trying to clear misconceptions about Islam though.

If I have a question I ask it. I have on occasion learned things from other atheists or agnostics. Like about evolution! A subject in which I had and really still have no interest, but I didn't know that we descended from a common ancestor of apes; like many others I had it in the back of my head that we descended from them.

I have no particular desire to bash or convert anyone, and causing strife isn't my goal either.

I enjoy clearing up misconceptions, but so many people out here are fluffy bunnies.

Other than that, I enjoy taking part in the war.

Outside of this particular room, I strive to educate.

I come here to see what other people think about various subjects. I like a good debate, and I'm a pretty decent researcher, so a lot of times, I can help people find answers or clear up misconceptions.

Granted, I get a little testy sometimes when people attack Christianity for no other reason than they think they can be rude and get away with it. I have to back off and cool down a bit so that I can get my perspective back.

So that's why I'm here. For the most part, this place is fun and challenging. The rudeness -- well, you learn to either ignore it or come back with a zinger of your own.

There are lots of questions here about atheism and evolution, often grounded in deep, deep ignorance. It's my civic duty to make the askers of these questions feel miserably inadequate and stupid, until they shut up.

Hope this helps.

I just come for the WSIDR. And a bit of contention's always fun.

Well, when one spews an insult someone will come back with one.

Religion is cyclic in the insult game.
