What are some verses in the Bible about a man and a woman being married who want to get divorced?

Ok, my husband's family are christians, but they want my husband and I to get divorced!! They wont even give me a chance to prove myself!! How can they believe in the Bible but still expect my husband and I to get divorced? What are some verses from the Bible that I can show them? I am just now beginning to read the Bible, and I don't know everything yet. Any help would be great. God Bless You All!

all talk about how God hates divorce.... and a man is to leave his family and a woman her home to become one with each other... the 'family' of the past is NOT ever to be more important that the husband/wife relationship.

it almost sounds like they are not Christian.. but they 'attend a church' and feel religious and righteous. God's word will guide you in all of this! praying that your husband turns from his family and seeks truth in the Word of the Lord, and bonds in relationship with you!

Sometimes, letting go seems like the easiest thing to do. But think about this: you've invested so much of your time and energy into another person; you've made a solemn promise; and you still know there's love, even if it's hiding underneath the surface. This website will show you how to save a marriage and avoid divorce, even if you're the only one trying https://tr.im/CjR6l

Jesus said to hard-hearted Pharisees:
‘Moses, out of regard for your hardheartedness, made the concession to you of divorcing your wives, but such has not been the case from the beginning. I say to you that whoever divorces his wife except on the grounds of fornication and marries another commits adultery.’” Matthew 19:8,9

Nothing is said in the Scriptures that would permit a Christian to divorce a marriage partner because that one was physically unable to perform the marital act, or had gone insane or contracted an incurable or loathsome disease. The love that Christians are to show would call, not for divorce, but for merciful treatment of such a mate.

1 Cor. 7:10-16 "To the married people I give instructions, yet not I but the Lord, that a wife should not depart from her husband; 11 but if she should actually depart, let her remain unmarried or else make up again with her husband; and a husband should not leave his wife.

12 But to the others I say, yes, I, not the Lord: If any brother has an unbelieving wife, and yet she is agreeable to dwelling with him, let him not leave her; 13 and a woman who has an unbelieving husband, and yet he is agreeable to dwelling with her, let her not leave her husband. 14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified in relation to [his] wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified in relation to the brother; otherwise, YOUR children would really be unclean, but now they are holy. 15 But if the unbelieving one proceeds to depart, let him depart; a brother or a sister is not in servitude under such circumstances, but God has called YOU to peace. 16 For, wife, how do you know but that you will save [your] husband? Or, husband, how do you know but that you will save [your] wife?"

Matt. 19:4-6 "In reply he said: “Did YOU not read that he who created them from [the] beginning made them male and female 5 and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and his mother and will stick to his wife, and the two will be one flesh’? 6 So that they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has yoked together let no man put apart.”

Matt. 19:9 "I say to YOU that whoever divorces his wife, except on the ground of fornication, and marries another commits adultery.”

One of the most common questions spouses ask when confronting a marriage crisis is this: How can I save my marriage if my partner doesn't want to help find a solution? How do I succeed I am trying to save my marriage on my own? Learn here https://tr.im/FTIs8

It is a typical enough story: one partner leaves, the other stays. One remains 'in love', the other is uncertain. Whatever it is that has caused a couple to be apart, the one person who remains bears the prospect, fear, doubt, desire, hope of saving his or her marriage' alone.

regrettably, devil is on the flow destroying any marriage he can, and doing his terrific to pervert others so they don't seem to be getting married, yet purely stay jointly. the terrific blessing could be if she could desire to forgive him, and restoration the marriage. it is real not undemanding however, so if she desires to go away, a million Corinthians 7:10-11 supplies some training. particularly, she shouldn't permit the devil scouse borrow her excitement, simply by fact the excitement of the Lord is her potential ( Nehemiah 8:10 ). it somewhat is the appropriate time for her to go into the throne room of God, and ask for grace ( Hebrews 4:sixteen ). tell her to proportion those scriptures, and to ensure Mark 11:25-26 isn't her subject. it somewhat is the appropriate time for her to furnish God a sacrifice of compliment, simply by fact her healing is in her compliment and worship.

Don't worry about quotes about divorce. Christians ignore them and cherry pick them out. They only worry about hating gays and the anti-gay quotes.

Marriage. Here are some real neat ones from BuyBull:

Rules for taking a second wife.
If he take him another wife.... -- Exodus 21:10

God's rules for disposing of hated wives.

If any man take a wife, and go in unto her, and hate her, And give occasions of speech against her, and bring up an evil name upon her, and say, I took this woman, and when I came to her, I found her not a maid: Then shall the father of the damsel, and her mother, take and bring forth the tokens of the damsel's virginity unto the elders of the city in the gate.... But if this thing be true, and the tokens of virginity be not found for the damsel: Then they shall bring out the damsel to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she hath wrought folly in Israel, to play the whore in her father's house: so shalt thou put evil away from among you. -- Deuteronomy 22:13

It is better not to marry. But if you must have sex, then get married. It's better to be married than burn forever in hell.

It is good for a man not to touch a woman. Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband. -- 1 Corinthians 7:1-2

For I would that all men were even as I myself.... I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, It is good for them if they abide even as I. But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn. -- 1 Corinthians 7:7-9

If you're not already married, don't get married. If you have a wife, don't have sex with her. There's not enough time since Jesus is coming soon.

Art thou bound unto a wife? seek not to be loosed. Art thou loosed from a wife? seek not a wife. -- 1 Corinthians 7:27

But this I say, brethren, the time is short: it remaineth, that both they that have wives be as though they had none. -- 1 Corinthians 7:29

WOW!!! What a ridiculous book!!!

The Bible says that when two are joined together in marriage, they are no longer two, but one (Genesis 2:23-24; Mark 10:8), and that God hates divorce. You and your spouse are "one" no matter how poorly your marriage is functioning. Divorce, in God's eyes, is not an option except in specific situations--and even then, forgiveness and rebuilding are usually best.

Living what the bible says is more importnat than using it as an axe to grind.

But Jesus and the bible frowns on divorce.

Forgiveness is the key to recovery:

Here get use to this prayer, pray it with your husband, pray it every day.

MAT 6V
9After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. 10Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. 11Give us this day our daily bread. 12And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 13And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. 14For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: 15But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
