First, you need to get them done by a professional. There are a few different methods; sew in, bond and quick weave are the most popular. Sew in lasts longer. Bond or quick weave is if u want something really temporary (like for a week) or if you have really short hair that cant be braided.
Sew ins are done after your natural hair is cornrowed in a circular design around your head. The more rows, the more hair you'll need to sew in. I suggest buying 2 packs of Zury human hair in Yacky texture. The stylist will use black thread and sew the tracks into your hair, leaving a part wherever you want it and enough of your natural hair out to cover the tracks. You remove them by letting a PROFESSIONAL ONLY cut the thread loose. Please dont do this yourself and dont let a friend do it, you will end up having bald spots.

There are many techniques but the most common are bonded extentions and sewn. Bonded are good for short term. The extentions are put on with hair glue close to the root of your natural hair. They are good for short term but for someone like me who sweats a lot the bonded method isnt good. The sewn method is better for long term. But you need to make sure you go to someone who is experienced to get a good one. However, be prepared to pay for a good job. Research your area for stylists and pricing. That way you know what you are dealing with. Make sure the stylist gives a consult along with show you pics of their work. Make sure during the consult your hair is in its natural state so that they know what they are working with.

I don't know how to braid them in, but have you seen the new ones with gold clips that just attach near your root? They're pretty expensive and done in Redken salons, but worth it. Try searching for a ColorWorks salon near you and ask about pricing.

Why don't you just go to a salon or better yet, grow out your own hair. It's more simple.
