They don't even understand the connection between vaccines and evolution. So how would they be able to even comprehend the total scope of evolution. It's like asking why someone working at Burger King can't engineer an airplane. They can't even tell you how an airplane flies.

And why do they believe god has a plan for them and yet they wear seatbelts?
The thing is christians rely on science, medicine and other developments when it helps them. It's like scientific dating... now there are dozens if not hundreds of different dating methods, many of them accurate to within 0.01%. Carbon dating is an outdated, old method that christians still foolishly believe is the only dating method we have.
Carbon dating is inaccurate, but when it was in more common use there was the interesting phenomenon where any time carbon dating found the world or anything to be older than biblical accounts (say 65 million years old, 4.54 billion, etc.) they immediately jumped on the "it's inaccurate" bandwagon (though it's not THAT inaccurate), and yet whenever carbon dating would give evidence for a biblical account (such as when a tunnel the bible mentions built 700BC was dated to be from around 700BC) christians point to it as final, clinching and inarguable proof of the bible's validity. Which is of course, hypocritical in the extremist sense, but such is the delusions they foster.
There is a great Doonesbury comic strip that captures this medicine point perfectly:

EDIT:
>> "The thing to remember is that evolution is still just a theory - a hypothesis, a speculation, an unproven assumption."
You have absolutely zero idea what you're talking about. A scientific theory is substantially more solid than the vernacular term. A scientific theory is true 100% of the time, it's observable, testable, repeatable, and so on. You may be familiar with other theories.. for example "The theory of gravity" is true 100% of the time, I encourage you to jump off a cliff with the belief it's an unproven assumption. Go ahead.
Then there's "Stress theory" which is what we use to make bridges, buildings, dams, airplanes, cars, and everything else. If scientific theories weren't true 100% of the time like stress theory, you'd have dams randomly collapsing, buildings falling down periodically for no reason, bridges crumpling, and so on... then there's "Quantum theory" - if that weren't accurate 100% of the time we would never have computers or cell phones.
Seriously, go back to junior high... and take the guy who says we evolved from plants with you. =P

Not all Christians reject evolution. However those that do reject some elements of it. I accept small changes occur but this doesn't require one to be rocket sceintist. Just look at the different looking humans. Their colors and features are slightly different. However the theory of evolution as presented by Darwin suggests much more than it can prove. It is also a fact that there is more than one evolutionary theory. The problem I have is too many do not want their pet theory to be questioned on its own merit. Does the theory of evolution stand or fall under scrutiny without dragging relgion into the equasion. There is a book caled the Icons of evolution written by a scientist Jonathan Wells. He was highly criticized for this book by Eugenie Scott. director of the national center for science yet she admitted he was technically correct about the information he presented inhis book. A must read for both sides of the evolution argument. Furthermore much of science is totally uneffected by how you think about evolution. If you need proof of this I can get it but it may take a little tie as I have already lent out some of my referance materials and I would like to give factual evidence. I should add at one point I did believe in evolution but have have since come to question some elemets of it and the driving force behind the dogamtism.

Hello. First off, vaccines and antibiotics are completely different than the theory of evolution. We have vaccines and antibiotics because scientists and doctors worked for many years to provide us with the ability to protect ourselves against harmful diseases and illnesses. Of course we take them. Evolution is saying that God did not create the earth and heavens and that we evolved from plants, which is not true. The Bible clearly states that God made heaven and earth, and explains how and when he did so. There is a very detailed description in Genesis. If you read it, you will understand. Genesis means beginnings. We don't believe in evolution, because it is not true. God created everything on this earth and in the heavens, that is all there is to it. I don't see how anyone could accept the theory of evolution in the first place, it is such a far fetched thing, we all know we didn't evolve from plants. There is no earthly possible way to evolve a human from a plant, no way. Humans are much more complexed than plants, and have completely different needs than plants do. We operate differently and therefore, are totallty different. We reproduce differently. The earth is not nearly as old as evolutionists claim it is either, not ANYWHERE near as old. There are too many discrepencies in the theory of evolution for anyone in their right mind to even consider it a possibility. So, that is why we reject evolution.

Evolution is not taught in the Holy Bible, and the Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God. He created all things the way they should be.
medicines, like the ones you described, are NOT evidence of evolutionary biology. The cells adapted to their environment, not evolved. If it was evolution, wouldn't they be insects or something now?

There are many sources of 'information' in the evangelical and fundamentalist communities which lay out fairly logical explanations of why Evolution is false.
The problem is that these sources start from false assumptions. The version of 'evolution' that they lay out is incorrect. So of course it doesn't work.
Many of the people who read these articles think that they're reading a legitimate critique of evolution.
If they just started from a better beginning information-wise, they'd understand how much sense evolution makes.

Ha, ha, lol....vaccines are evidence of evolution? Ha. ha that's a new one...
There is plenty of evidence AGAINST EVOLUTION:.
First, the 'Cambrian explosion'...... the millions of fossil types in Cambrian rock (oldest fossil bearing rocks) appear suddenly and fully formed and without any previous forms...IOW, there are no transitional forms.
Most well educated evolutionists, when forced to, will admit it, but very unwillingly, and even then they always want to seem to make new excuses for it. Usually they just don't say anything about it and hope noone finds out.
The thing to remember is that evolution is still just a theory - a hypothesis, a speculation, an unproven assumption.
According to Scripture NOTHING evolved but everything was created "AFTER THEIR KIND"....which is directly consistent with the fossil record.
"From the beginning of the Creation God made them male and female..."-- Jesus (Mk. 10:6)
Scripture says God SPOKE all things into existence with His Word:
" By the Word of the Lord were the heavens created, and all the host of them by the breath of His mouth.... For HE SPAKE AND IT WAS DONE; HE COMMANDED AND IT STOOD FAST". (psalm 33:6-9)

And here all this time I thought they were advances in medicine.
And, now I find out that some evolutionist invented them. Well, sir, you have me convinced. And, so, now, I will no longer reject evolution or the theory there of. Do I, as a latter day convert get to have use of the new meds or must I still use the old time penicillin?

Macro-Evolution is backed by thousands of pieces of evidence in every scientific field, it is now reached near complete consensus, to reject it one must be in complete denial.
Most do not even learn the first thing about evolution though, which is quite scary, especially when you see them say ridiculous things like there is no proof. (Disregard the countless transitional forms and partial forms we now have in our possession.

Evolution of humans and evolution of medicines are two completely different things. Christians reject evolution of humans because they feel they came from the first HUMANS Adam and Eve. Simple as that.
