I have a friend who lives his life worry free. He could be about to run out of gas with no money on a busy highway in rush hour traffic and say "I'll pray about". Me, I would freak out and be scared I wouldn't make it to my destination. He tells me I lack faith all the time. It's to the point where I don't like him because he tells me that. I feel I have faith but I also feel he lives in "la-la" land while I'm in the "real" world trying to make it. We are both living pay check to pay check. I do worry about my bills sometimes. I love the Lord and I know he loves me. I feel like God helps people who help themselves. If you sit back and look to him for everything then your lazy( In my eyes). I've been going to church all my life, tithing and praying. How did I grow to have a life of un-faithful habits? Am I on the fast track to hell? Or is it that I never really had faith in the beginning?

Your friend is lying to you, by telling you that you are lacking faith. You are being responsible and being a faithful steward with what God has given you. Being responsible for the things God has entrusted you with is an important and faithfilled task... by forseeing problems and taking care to not have them, is not a lack of faith.. it is being responsible. Your friend on the other hand may have some issues with being too lazy and expecting a handout from God in times of trouble.
If you believe in Jesus as your Savior, and have repented of sins and have a pure heart in what you do, you will not be on the fast track to hell.. God's Word promises Heaven to you.... do not question your faith based on any person's ideas nor their judgements. satan pushes all the time to strip us of our faith, even thru 'good' people... God has many blessings that He wants to pour out on you... remain Faithful and continue being responsible with all he has given you!

Worrying is SIN since the word means ^missing the mark ^.
The result will be that worrying and all other negative emotions can only attract more of the same. If that is what you like, then enjoy it. Praying is suppose to be thinking of what you want. When people think of what they don`t want, it is only generating energy which vibrates at the frequency of the subject of the thought, and is attracted by other energy transmissions until it becomes mass or reality. The WAR against anything always fails. Check it out !

Did you have enough faith to believe in Jesus? That's all the faith you need. What your learning is to trust. Because of our background or circumstances we often have trouble trusting so God guides us to a place where we can learn to trust Him. He isn't going to send you to hell because you are nervous. He understands you better than you know yourself and is more patient than anyone you ever met. He'll guide you where you need to be in a way that helps you best.
Don't compair yourself to others to determine if you have enough faith for anything. Judgement calls like that are God's job not anyone else. Sometimes those who seem to have great faith in one area lack faith in another. Time and God take care of the process.

Jesus was in the wilderness for 40 days and 40 nights without food.

Expecting God to get you out of traffic jams is ridiculous. You're the one in the real world, and you're not going to go to Hell for not expecting God to do every little thing for you, even by Bible standards. Making God into a little fairy who helps you with mundane things is debasing to Him. If that kind of thing happened, why is there poverty and starvation? If your friend relies on God for everything he's going to end up in serious debt/injury/inconvenience.
