What were the lawyer fees for. If they were for a discrimination law suit then yes (Check out the first link the last bullet).

The only way you could deduct lawyer fees is if they were for advice on something income-producing.

Pet fees are not deductible unless you are in the business of pet breeding or some other animal-related business, then they might be.

generally you cannot deduct lawyer or pet fees.
IF you itemize your deductions, then normally you will deduct interest on a mortage, real estate property taxes, state income taxes, donations, etc.
