you're only wearing the bandage for the first 12 hrs after your tattoo is done. People often have saran wrap put on rather than a bandage so that they can show it without taking off the bandage too. Yes, when I was researching my stuff about tattoos before I got one, I found that there was alot of contradicting info as well. Your artist will give you directions after you get your tattoo....you'll be fine. :) I know that tomorrow is your big day....you'll be ok...

Saran wrap should never be used on a tattoo by either the artist or the client. Tattoos are covered with a dressing after they are finished to absorb fluids that are still oozing from the fresh tattoo.

Saran wrap does not absorb it, the fluids not only accumulate on the skin, but they leak down from the bottom of the wrap and there is a very high chance of cross contamination.

In a word, the whole practice if its use: disgusting.

I'm in the minority here but my artist initially placed a dressing on for the first few hours, then advised me to use saran wrap for 3 consecutive nights (nights only, uncovered by day). My tattoo didn't scab, healed beautifully and is well-defined with absolutely no fading after 3+ years.

Some artist will wrap a new tat this way. They are forgetting or to cheap to add a dressing. One of the main reasons a tattoo scabs is because all of the excess ink and blood were not removed from the tat. That, and people don't leave the initial bandage on long enough. (I am guilty in that respect)

Saran Wrap? Haha I personally wouldn't put that on a tattoo. I would also let it breath!

Do not use Saran Wrap. The shop where you get your tattoo should bandage it, but not with plastic film. Your skin needs to breathe...

i might could say saran wrap, because of the fact no longer in user-friendly terms is it sturdy for masking and saving scrumptious food, it is likewise surprising for pranks. saran wrapping lavatories, vehicles, doorways, residences, its a surprising present given to mankind. haha jointly as bubble wrap is surprising too, it may grow to be an habit, this is not any sturdy.

it's not something that should be used daily. as soon as the tattoo is finished being tattooed the artist will cover it with something. they will use either gause or saran wrap. there is no reason for you the customer to ever need to apply gauze or saran wrap to your tattoo. just wash it often and keep it moisturized with whatever your tattoo artist suggests.

no just keep it moist with lotion , do not use vaseline or neosporin, it wil pull the ink out, just keep it dry except for the tiny bit of lotion, keri lotion is really good and dont try to pill the skin off, let it do it on it's own
