I just did & it was a big brown one.
I don't really like spiders & I'm scared it will bite me or somebody that's why I hit it with my flip flop.

Depending on where you live, most spiders won't hurt you whether they bite you or not.
I don't think it is bad luck to kill a spider, but I think it's a good idea not to kill a spider. Spiders eat mosquitoes, those most evil of creatures.

It's bad luck to kill a cricket indoors, but spiders, no, though like another answer said, they do eat other harmful insects
