Canned Pears in Lite Syrup

Also, would an 8 ounce can be considered one serving of fruit?

Well, to can something it is added with all that sugary syrupy liquid. So, I suppose in essence the pear is still a pear but when it's canned, it's also a lot extra. so be careful. Maybe drain the excess syrup out when you open the can and instead put it over some cottage cheese (very good actually).
(sorry, about the last part of the question, I don't really understand the whole ounce concept.)

No, they are not as nutritious. Canned pears, or anything canned, has been processed, with sugars & sodium & preservatives being added. There is nothing more nutritious than eating raw fruits and vegetables in it's complete state, and even more nutritious eating organic raw fruits and veggies.

The skin of a real pear has fiber in it, some of the vitamins have been lost too. Also there is more sugar in the canned one.

i doubt it because of the preservatives.
