Contrary to the previous post, there is one sure way to find out, ASK!!! Nothing should be too awkward to ask, especially about this important topic if you two have a "relationship".

Otherwise, one gauge is by counting how many times a week you see each other - on short notice. Is it more than you'd normally go out? Do either of you have to schedule in advance when you'll see each other, or is it more implied? Do you expect to spend your weekends together, without making plans? If you see him majority of the week, then chances are you are the only one he is seeing. I would go and ask him, albeit casually just to be sure. =)

You'll know if he said you are and you both agreed on it. Otherwise he's probably hanging out with a lot of other girls. However, I don't like the whole exclusive thing because there are a lot of loop holes. If you are "exclusive" make sure your ideas of that are the same as his. Guys are dogs...they'll tell you one thing but to them their version of it is completely different.

Is there an unspoken expectation that you'll be spending Friday and Saturday nights (of whatever free time you have) with him? If not, and you have to keep asking him (or he has to ask you) to go on a date, it's less likely to be a definite exclusive thing. I suppose you could alwyas talk to him about it too...

Just say your girls were asking how serious the relationship was getting, like if you were just talking or dating, and you didn't want to put something out there without knowing for sure.

You will have to have talked, decided and agreed to be exclusive. Even that is no guarantee for either of you...TRUST is usually a given until abuse of that trust occurs.

Be somewhat distant, to see if it matters to him. When you say your gonna go over wait a little, if he calls he is worried. It's kinda crappy to do so, but sometimes it's the only way you will know.
