it is not advisable to use a straw for a couple of days, however if the bleeding is completely stopped and it does not hurt very much if you touch it and you are very careful when eating or sucking the straw then 3 days should be enough. Try to sip on the other side of themouth if you can, and not touch the area where the teeth were pulled.

I just had extractions on Friday and my dentist told me to wait at least 24 hours before I started using a straw. If you had them 3 days ago, you should be fine, but put the straw on the opposite side of where you had your extractions.

WAIT until the holes are CLOSED...the sucking motion of using a straw can potentially pull out the blood clots, and then you run a high risk of getting Dry Socket, a VERY PAINFUL infection at the site of the extraction. IT IS NOT WORTH THE PAIN, just wait until they are closed up...it will happen before you know it...

NOW THAT IT HAS BEEN A FEW DAYS SINCE YOUR EXTRACTION, YOU SHOULD BE FINE TO USE A STRAW.
