If you want a blood test, you may want to go to a free clinic. For anyone saying that a person on their parent's insurance isn't stable enough to have a child is wrong. I am 21 and on my parent's insurance, and I am pregnant. I am definately stable enough to and mature enough to have a child. Just because a person is on their parent's insurance, doesn't mean they are under the age of 18. I am covered until I am 24, unless I get married. Many students are also on their parents insurance. Melinda did not mention how old she was, so don't tell her she is not stable or old enough to have a child. Only she knows if she is ready or not. And an insurance company cannot drop you just because you are pregnant. Most insurance companies will cover pre-natal care for a dependent child. But, you may need to purchase your own insurance for the child. I don't believe an insurance company will cover grandchildren.

You should wait on wanting a child if you are not old enough to be on your own insurance. I would suggest thinking about children when you are out on your own and can afford to pay your own bills and stuff. If you are still on their insurance it means you are in school and/or college. If you were to get pregnant right now.. the insurance company would drop you off the moment they know you are pregnant.. b/c at that moment you become responsible for yourself under insurance terms. So can you afford to fork out all the money needed each month to raise the child.. without your parents help?

You could get a home pregnancy test (HPT) and collect your morning urine. They have them at the dollar store and work as well as the more expensive ones. If you are early on, go to a pharmacy and get the "First Response" brand, this is a more sensitive HP test. Or you could look in the phonebook for a Planned Parenthood or Pregnancy Help clinic and go/call to see if they would do a low cost or no cost blood pregnancy test.
Good Luck!

Go to planned parenthood and get a test and pay cash. You will still have to get to a doctor anyway for pre-natal care and unless you pay cash each time, they are going to find out.
