I had a filling put in almost 2 weeks ago and it felt fine until yesterday. It's suddenly sensitive to heat and cold. Is this normal?

well it can be yes and no. depends on how the first two weeks went. It should not be sensitive for more than 2 weeks ( from the time right after it was put in) so if it was fine at first and now it hurts that might mean you chipped off a piece of it or it wasnt put in right. However it may also mean that another tooth next to it became sensitive because even though the tooth with the filling got used to it, the ones around it may now be feeling it. That is normal. Therefore look at the strength of the pain -whether it actually painful, because if it is just sensitive then you should be okay, just wait a little while and it will go away. Only if it starts really hurting should you worry

no this is not normal. a nerve ending is still alive and maybe the tooth has to be removed or maybe ask can you get a root canal to save the tooth.
