I wish to make some 30 second audio clips from some songs I like so I can put them on my phone as ringtones. Does anyone know how to clip a section of the song? Like if the song is 4.35 minutes and I want to edit a song so it can record at a certain point. Lets say for ex I want to record the song starting at the mark 1.15 and end at the mark 1.40 minutes. Which is 30 seconds. how do I do it? do I need some special software? Is there a website I can go to DL it for free.

Audacity will do exactly what you need and it is completely free. You can download it from here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/audacity/

I use a software program called Easy CD-DA Extractor. You can download a trial of the software free and use it for 30 days. After that, you'll have to pay $29.95 to continue using it.
