Love is so much more than words. Love is waking up in the morning and not being able to think of nothing else but that person. Love is the feeling you get when you see that person for the first time that day. It's not all about making love and cuddling, yeah, those are part of it, but it doesn't define love itself. Love is knowing you would give up your happiness so the person you love wouldn't have to feel one ounce of pain. It's laying your heart on the line, and trusting completely that they will never break it. It's being able to lean on them when times are hard, and letting them do the same. It's giving more when you need to and not always taking so much. It's being able to let things go when you know they have had a hard day. It's knowing you will miss them every moment until the time you will see them again. It's companionship, communication, and moments where you can sit in comfortable silence. Love is beautiful but fragile. And when the person you love does something to hurt you, try to understand that is why it hurts, because you love them. But you forgive them, too, because you love them.

I think everyone has given you great advice so far. But to top it off, true true love doesnt cause pain. It brings you happiness and joy, and if hes causing you pain, then you may want to reevaluate that person because eventually your going to get fed up with the pain and leave him anyways, and real love doesnt do that at all. its unconditional, and if two people love eachother and its real love, a war could be going on outside and they wouldnt even know it, they would still be happy, thats real love, so if you feel this way that they cause you pain then i think its just words hes telling you, because when someone cares for you they want to try to make you smile, make you happy, and they wouldnt say hurtful things to you to bring you down. And like the other girl told you if you feel like that i dont think you love that person either because real love will make you bipass what they said to you and it wouldnt bother you at all. But to some people the L word is just a word, and to others who use the word wisely they mean it and they show you what love is all about....

love is lots of words. of course it is words...and actions.
what if they did...cause you pain. words cause both pain and happiness! no words at all can be painful or peaceful.
our mind can allow or disallow the pain. memory is stored. how it is kept can continue to cause pain or we can put it away in the past. keep your heart pure and the painful stuff into your mind as an experience of the past. every day we begin again if we allow that. we are in control of what we do next. you can use the pain as a learning/teaching tool, to help others and to understand yourself.
For example, all things in life are taught/learned and mistakes are made by oneself and others around us. we try and try again to get it right. sometimes feel like giving up. but if you really want something you keep trying. put the pain into a different perspective...as a try for something. didnt work. then try again when you realize you cant relive the pain day after day. its only used as a tool to tell you dont do it that way...try this way.
try a new experience and that try is better. now you have a more recent memory..a better experience. you can do it if you want to. peace

love is not just words. love is cuddling in bed together, love is making love, love is knowing the other person is in love with you. love is getting each other mad once in awhile, love is being jealous sometimes, love is love. my bf loves me and he has causes me pain, but i still love him because im willing to work it out. and i know i cause him pain once in awhile.

Hmph common sense tells me that yes to him it is just words and he doesn't care(which should come before love) about you at all if he hurts you in any kind of form regardless of the situation

No. And you could not be suffering any pain unless you love him also. If you don't love him then whatever he is doing wouldn't hurt.
