I heard of combing conditioner but shampoo that is new to me!

But rinse it out after of course.

The purpose of shampoo is to cleanse your hair. It is not a good idea to comb your hair whilst you have shampoo in it as this will create tangles which will be more difficult to remove later.
Once you have rinsed the shampoo out (which should be massaged NOT scrubbed) then apply conditioner and then you can start by combing out with your fingers and then move on to a wide tooth comb starting at the ends and working your way back to the roots so as not to create a build up of tangles.
Lather is of no importance when using a shampoo. All you need is enough so that your hands can massage the scalp and hair. Too much shampoo just means a waste.

My hairdresser combs a very thick shampoo through my dry hair and then washes it. He says it gets the shampoo on all of the strands and cleans the hair better. Just a different method I guess.

No, your really not suppose to comk your hair with the conditioner in it. That's when your hair is at it's weakess. Combing wet hair causes it to stretch and then snap off.

your supposed to massage the shampoo into your scalp... not comb

no i dont comb sampoo in my hair..i scrub it in though
