My best friends ex wife wants to go on a date! I'm not sure how to handle this? We are great friends, and I am very attracted to her but i'm worried about ruining friendships. Should we ask my best friend for his permission, and if so,who should ask?

It's not wrong but it would be weird..
There no longer a couple so it's okay , but out of respect you should ask him to see if it would bug him ..
Best of luck to you !!

It is a very awkward situation if you plan to continue your friendship with your best friend. I think that you need to feel him out on his thoughts about this sort of thing. Have a talk with him and tell that you first do not want to do anything to spoil your friendship, but how would he feel if you dated his ex-wife. Make sure that it is worth risking the friendship if he does not respond the way that you want him to.

They are no longer committed to each other and they both ended their marriage because they agreed that they weren't meant for each other. If your best friend is the one who initiated the divorce than it should be of no concern to him and if she's the one who initiated the divorce than most likely your friend may not be at ease with it. However, in that case both you and the ex should let him know that you both care for each other and would like to start dating. What ever you do, do not do this in secrecy and let him know the reason you are telling him is because he is a friend. It is honorable to be truthful and he should respect you for that.

Ask him if he gives you grief "Would you rather us not inform you and you find out later"? His answer would be "No".

Your not asking for permission you are informing him of your intentions, they have no more ties and she is not his property.

Sincerely,
SuperDave

If you are still "best friends" with him. I wouldn't. But at the same time, if you think its more than friends with your friends ex wife and you feel she might be the one, then I would say try giving it a shot. Though be prepared that your best friend might not approve. I hope everything goes well. Good luck!

Wow that's a hard one... first off how long has your bf and wife been separated... if it hasn't really been long then i would strongly advice against. If you really and truly treasure your friendship with your bf then i would talk to him about it either way its going to come out sooner or later. But if you talk to him about it at least you were the better person and talked to him bout your feelings and get his input on the situation. Best of luck.

There is so many women out there that you can find attractive, if you go out with you best friend ex, you might not have you best friend as a friend at all but possibly a enemy, and how do you know this girl is not wanting to go out with you as a way to get back at him. Don't do it besides that really nasty, and its circle jerking, unless your fan of Jerry Springer.

Perhaps I'm a little unusual, or slow. I don't understand why anyone would be bothered by someone dating their ex. So he's your best friend, so what? He's obviously done with her. She's free, cut loose! Enjoy! If he's got a problem with it, he shouldn't have divorced her.
Anybody want my ex? Go for it! I don't want her any more, that's why I divorced her. sheesh!

Yes, you should ask your best friend and see if its ok with him. Personally though.. if it were me and my best friend wanted to date my ex husband I dont think we would be best friends anymore. Thats just my opinion..
Good luck.

Don't kid yourself Youve already made up your mind, your gonna tag it, so now you just gotta figure out how you want to play it. Good friend, he will give you a thumbs up, not so good he will get in the way. either way somebody is gettin some peach pie and it aint him.

does it not seem kind of awkward. it is not exactly wrong if you are in love. but it is definitely going to ruin your relationship with your best friend. you need to think about what is more important or who.
