Being an English teacher for more than three decades, let me inform you , Sir, that nothing can be free of cost, even if not in terms of money, but in work, hard work ever lasting work to acquire knowlege., Let alone English, any language is to be acquired by listening, repeating, that is speaking, and reading and the last writing.

If you have ears tune it to receive what ever is talked near you, if it is english, pay attention , what they say and under what context. the same thing repeated in a different text may be different in nature and meaning. For example, Hellow, This hellow can be said to gesticulate friendship, enimity , courting , to phoo phoo. that depends upon the accent and stress employed there in,
from the question, to improve, we can surmise that you have a little bit of knowledge upon which you wish to build a building, let it not be a castle in the air.
apart from the gramatical knowledge, a good store of vacapulary is need to express what you want to say. Proper word in a proper place will make the point driven home. You know, for the word "see" there are more than 12 words to denote it. when we see with vow, we say behold, when see something throuh a hole we say peer and so on, ok

Okay, considering that you are in 9th and you want to learn English free of cost you might consider checking out your library for books and magazines.
Magazines like Reader's Digest, India Today, etc would be useful. Try reading Harry Potter, Nancy Drew, Tintin, etc.
At higher standards also try reading Competition Success Review, Newspapers, novels, CAT, GRE English notes etc. To be able to read English, communicate in English and write in English all these skills require independent and consistent effort. So work in small, steady steps.
All the best!

Hi,

Try to read the daily English papers, where u can know so many words and u can use those in ur studies too. It makes fluent in ur engligh language. I am sure u need not purchase them u can learn in ur school library daily. Then u can become a member in public library and u can lend some english basic books and journals and u can read well.

first you read English daily (News paper) either The Hindu or Indian Express loudly for 5 to 10 minutes. Note down 5 new word every day and know their meaning and try to use it then their in your conversations. So in one month you would know 150 new words. And try speak in english with your mams, sirs and friends. If u want more details mail me at elansezhianr@yahoo.co.in
